6 F( V, w2 P! C* m, t. i; kEDMONTON — Southgate Centre today began a $108 million expansion to accommodate more than 30 new retailers and restaurants.

+ H9 k2 E9 T/ _: HThe two-year project, facing 111th Street, will add 126,000 square feet of leasable space on the ground floor — and two levels of parking above.: [7 ~) Q2 y" V" p
7 }& ~' @) ]8 ~“Part of the redevelopment will include enhanced site lighting and closed-circuit TV security systems monitored 24 hours a day, seven days a week,” said Southgate general manager Paul Fairbridge., O1 f( g1 n: S; X8 H

It also will include hotel-quality washrooms and private sitting rooms for nursing mothers.
