Calgary police have now laid charges against an 18-year-old Calgary woman following the death of a little girl at a crosswalk in the city's northwest.1 J3 r# j; m5 y" Q
Police Sgt. Doug McIlwraith said Tuesday that Angela Ta has been charged with passing a motor vehicle stopped for a pedestrian at a crosswalk, failing to yield at a crosswalk, and careless driving.
0 g: @/ j6 A+ S' GMcIlwraith says the charges could mean a licence suspension, a $2,000 fine or six months in jail.
+ ~6 y/ Q& v2 M0 k0 A' T7 {Six-year-old Jenna Chang and her mother, Ye Qiao, were struck Jan. 18 by a black BMW while using a marked crosswalk at 32 Avenue and 37 Street N.W.
