if you follow old chinese myth, never sleep with your head towards east-west. then back yard shall facing east or west, so most of your bedrooms will give your chance of sleeping heading south or north.

actually, in Edmonton, you don't have many chance fill too hot by west-facing windows.

以前从来没有住过朝西的房子，这次在加拿大买的是朝向西的，2-3年后发现很好，

南最保险，其他朝向设计上要考量的东西多一点。

关键是主卧和客厅要朝南，比如现在，朝南的房间充满阳光

; W8 y5 g) O5 C0 @+ H) }% Dmy neighbour's house kitchen facing west,  when they cook for dinner , the sun is so hot and very bright, in summer it will become worse and I could not imagine BBQ at summer under so bright sunshine. It harm the skin. In summer time,  morning time my mom usually hangs all the laundry on the deck , dry easy and fresh.
$ g3 ^* i/ z* F0 }+ B& V* NMy garage side faces  west, the garage door get sunshine, looks so warm. In summer, my peony near the garage door always look nice under afternoon sunshine .
