买房的免税额度

去年买了房子,听说可以在报税的时候有7500的免税额度,不知道是不是真的。请问可以随便报在夫妻哪边吗?

9 _7 i4 }, V4 k8 n& I$ P3 hYou can claim an amount of $5,000 for the purchase of a qualifying home made in 2013, if both of the following apply:
+ k$ p/ f3 Q3 S4 P9 ^6 B•you or your spouse or common-law partner acquired a qualifying home; and
: R5 k: B% k' F•you did not live in another home owned by you or your spouse or common-law partner in the year of acquisition or in any of the four preceding years (first-time home buyer).& E7 @  \* C4 M8 |
So the non-refundable tax credit is up to $750.

这样看似乎免税额度是 5000 不是7500?是必须买新房,还是买的二手房也算啊。
