As a matter of fact, I often meet people who speak perfect English while their mother tongue is not English and they did not learn English when being young. It would be great to practice English with a native speaker, but it is the same effective to talk with our fellow countrymen in English.

Thanks for your interest. First of all, I do not think age or sex is a big issue, because we are not looking for boy or girl friends. What we want is to practice English only. Secondly, I would like to tell you briefly about myself. I was a teacher in China and now I am going to finish my PhD at U of A.

There is a program named LACE held in libraries. I wonder if you have ever tried that program. It won't be on again until the summer vacation finish. If you like , I could contact several classmates of this program to start our own conversation circle.   P.S  "  Thanks to " the forum limit to new members, I could only post once each day here.
