7 c. d$ t/ p; ^. B1 D- Connect piping systems to water mains, supply tanks, pumps, compressors and control equipment 5 k$ g0 Z0 }. ?" U& N+ C
- Read and interpret drawings, blueprints and specifications furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form to determine layout requirements
0 j/ e5 p3 l+ e( X1 |; j- Cut openings for pipe in walls, floors and ceilings using hand or power tools or machines. ]& p' L$ A/ c K6 F
- Select type and size of pipe required
1 E& |/ {: o& j3 {- Measure, cut, thread and bend pipe to required shape using hand and power tools5 Y J; F5 C# B7 L8 H- j
- Weld, braze, cement, solder and thread joints to join pipes and fabricate sections of piping system
M- G. F ]) d- c- Install supports, valves, piping and control systems
. T. @. `/ @; F5 c/ h- Test system for leaks using testing equipment
( G8 u( y5 r- l2 E& I$ D$ M( e- Clean and maintain pipe units and fittings and flush system

- Actively participate in the Iyinisiw safety program

Required Qualifications. g/ W9 a& E1 C) Q3 I

- Completion of secondary school9 C; i" @6 F6 ]6 w! a9 Y
- Completion of formal Apprenticeship Program of four- to five-years or a combination of over five years of work experience in the trade and some high school, college or industry courses in pipefitting system installation " O! ?/ I+ t% k& Q4 w
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
