Hours of Work: Part-time (21 hours per week)

Position Summary: Within the broad guidelines of Integrated Service Program funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada, and Alberta Employment and Immigration, the Receptionist/Immigrant Services Worker will answer a multi-line phone calls professional, politely, and directing the calls correctly; assist in clerical needs of the ISP team; assist with providing counter service and act as relieve to the other Immigrant Services Worker.

Key Responsibilities:
) b3 X) V( E. G. w: h; G9 w• Answer incoming calls and route calls to appropriate person
0 D) \8 k1 b3 |+ X. U. C" h1 }• Take and deliver messages to the staff of ASSIST! [' ^& y. F* M5 X% z
• Welcome clients and direct them appropriately: R1 x1 i, y1 N0 z, q2 s
• Order and maintain office supplies for the front counter
6 E. c% z( j& a+ W: Q2 Q/ w" d• Perform general clerical functions such as photocopying and faxing documents2 ?: [0 s+ T. L. b* d% F
• Provide assistance to immigrants and clients seeking settlement related services in the capacity of immigrant services worker

• Assist the ISP team in reminding clients to appointments of workshops or other events2 V. n, N- O4 ?3 F
• Keep the reception area tidy and clean

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:4 z% L- r9 r1 f# X. ]- _
• Excellent communication (verbal and listening) on phone and in person! a7 H# _2 S* {6 z
• Fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese as an asset
( c5 J# r! B9 c" ?4 g5 B, e4 V• Good English writing and oral communication skills
5 W4 d5 F$ `* g( B: O0 U• Ability to work with newcomers and general clients

• Ability to address multi-task and set priority appropriately + |5 V4 J3 r( k; T& }
• Sensitive to the needs of immigrants with multicultural backgrounds

• 2-4 years of office and clerical experience : r: ]4 j7 W& Z+ R3 E( y# \
• Receptionist or customer service experience in a fast paced environment% g5 A% P4 Q) Y8 O. g4 `
• Demonstrate workplace maturity and professionalism% R5 @7 V9 O" k
• Ability to work well under minimal supervision
