Job Purpose:
; [& m* h$ R4 B5 I; F* HTo support the Executive Director with fundraising, special events and will be instrumental in the development of our Social Enterprise.  This position will also be working directly with children 6-12 years old to teach life skills such as self esteem, communication skills, peer relations using recreation and physical activities to promote growth.  Small group facilitation, one-to-ones, family support, advocacy and referrals are used to achieve program outcomes.

This is a full time, one year term position working 37.5 hours per week with 10-15 hours per week dedicated to the children’s programming.   (Continuation of this position will depend on available funding)

( c" H/ n/ d" q& M9 R) SAdministrative Duties and Responsibilities include:
•        Working together with the Executive Director to solidify new funding opportunities and write funding reports as needed;
5 L0 C, Y* H6 Q. Y. v# x$ o•        Supporting in the overall development of programs and activities that benefit our community and our children;
•        Maintaining and evaluating program outcomes;
•        Spearheading the further develop our social enterprise;
•        Risk Management and succession planning;

2 S; i4 M% Z1 D( ^7 `+ JProgram Duties and Responsibilities include:  
•        Maintaining comprehensive and objective contact notes related to child or conversations with others about child;
•        Maintaining confidentiality related to all participant information;
•        Liaising and/or advocate with school personnel, parent/guardian, and child, as required;
•        Creatively planning, organizing, and evaluating small group and one-to-one activities
; N9 ]: p  W+ ^% ^8 S•        Participating in establishing achievable program outcomes and employ group strategies and activities to achieve the same;
•        Meeting with participants on a one-to-one basis to help them achieve success with their goals;
- R# H8 t& J* b& I# ?•        Building and maintaining positive relationships with children in groups;
0 _" V' s4 A4 P5 \3 Q" k6 E3 L•        Participating in the planning and implementation of family activities for participants & families;

* \; ^' k9 M3 ]7 X•        Degree in communications, human services or related field;
" S7 p; p( W. h2 w•        Extensive knowledge of the not for profit or voluntary sector;
' E2 E5 f* ^% `* ?  L' F. n+ X) o•        Knowledge of all federal and provincial legislation applicable to voluntary sector organizations;  
. |& F% e0 o9 Z! ~4 |: [: e) S•        Excellent oral and written communication skills with experience in writing funding proposals and reports a must;
•        The abilities to multi-task, creatively problem solve, communicate effectively, foster teamwork, and build relationships are critical.
+ w( q  q9 p. J' U( @•        Extensive experience in group facilitation and working with children;
•        Current certificates in Aboriginal Cultural Awareness, Suicide Intervention, Standard First Aid and CPR, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention are preferred;
•        Clear CYIM, Security Clearance, and Driver’s Abstract;

' X8 E& w) Y! v, C•        Knowledge of and comfort with the implementation of behavioural intervention strategies;
2 b1 p; U$ B+ ]•        Conflict resolution skills;
* @, J+ I5 G6 g•        Clear understanding of professional boundaries;
•        Committed and passionate about children;
