Job Title:        Program Manager Abbottsfield Youth Project

Job Purpose:+ h, W& N. j$ L; {; ]: B7 N$ n' ^
To support the Executive Director with fundraising, special events and will be instrumental in the development of our Social Enterprise.  This position will also be working directly with children 6-12 years old to teach life skills such as self esteem, communication skills, peer relations using recreation and physical activities to promote growth.  Small group facilitation, one-to-ones, family support, advocacy and referrals are used to achieve program outcomes.

: F& i6 W7 Y" \This is a full time, one year term position working 37.5 hours per week with 10-15 hours per week dedicated to the children’s programming.   (Continuation of this position will depend on available funding); G9 u) {  P. s; p* J

•        Working together with the Executive Director to solidify new funding opportunities and write funding reports as needed;7 n4 l5 B& F$ s; I2 A/ p; `' l
•        Supporting in the overall development of programs and activities that benefit our community and our children;) S7 e( b3 A; W# u& ]" _- r& G2 G
•        Maintaining and evaluating program outcomes;; r% s2 g, I' P
•        Spearheading the further develop our social enterprise; " ^+ I: j* ]) d4 ]4 N' p
•        Risk Management and succession planning;

* p* f; i* F- b' M% v4 V; rProgram Duties and Responsibilities include:  1 U2 R2 |( {5 C
•        Maintaining comprehensive and objective contact notes related to child or conversations with others about child;% X' N; B0 k# r2 D& X; c/ W
•        Maintaining confidentiality related to all participant information;& b- m- b2 z( T9 P; t
•        Liaising and/or advocate with school personnel, parent/guardian, and child, as required;
3 [0 O# l4 i7 T0 Z; j•        Creatively planning, organizing, and evaluating small group and one-to-one activities
8 G0 n" }, v' Q0 F6 G•        Participating in establishing achievable program outcomes and employ group strategies and activities to achieve the same;* ~# |3 @2 b0 O4 r+ K, d5 @
•        Meeting with participants on a one-to-one basis to help them achieve success with their goals;7 {# \8 O5 g4 O/ _- q8 Z; B( `
•        Building and maintaining positive relationships with children in groups;
1 j  Y( c% S" j" e•        Participating in the planning and implementation of family activities for participants & families;
% j; N3 {% I6 A% N+ v# y2 X% G+ v7 ^$ ?, [# z: y8 ~& w: u; H
Qualifications:
2 t2 ?. F1 m  \: P1 C, _; ]•        Degree in communications, human services or related field;0 P9 y' G$ O- c, ~; ?
•        Extensive knowledge of the not for profit or voluntary sector;
+ Y2 C! u1 K- j! {  O6 _2 Z•        Knowledge of all federal and provincial legislation applicable to voluntary sector organizations;  
; n0 _  @5 m+ z+ {•        Excellent oral and written communication skills with experience in writing funding proposals and reports a must;* x8 D$ C. d9 L# h- q- R
•        The abilities to multi-task, creatively problem solve, communicate effectively, foster teamwork, and build relationships are critical.
9 v% m2 H* P  L) C! P8 b•        Extensive experience in group facilitation and working with children;3 [+ p. w8 @  r0 ?! D8 ]
•        Current certificates in Aboriginal Cultural Awareness, Suicide Intervention, Standard First Aid and CPR, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention are preferred;
+ f- k" r6 }& U# N: }) W•        Clear CYIM, Security Clearance, and Driver’s Abstract;
' K' Z1 A2 q0 R+ p. E•        Current valid drivers license;
, X8 n# z4 t' p- R; T•        Knowledge of and comfort with the implementation of behavioural intervention strategies;6 H2 V. M/ z  ~) D( [9 W3 y  ?
•        Conflict resolution skills;
8 w) z2 k9 O. N( G( a% u•        Clear understanding of professional boundaries;
/ v9 T; E& _3 D. _•        Committed and passionate about children;
