Job Title: Program Manager Abbottsfield Youth Project

Job Purpose:
; [& m* h$ R4 B5 I; F* HTo support the Executive Director with fundraising, special events and will be instrumental in the development of our Social Enterprise. This position will also be working directly with children 6-12 years old to teach life skills such as self esteem, communication skills, peer relations using recreation and physical activities to promote growth. Small group facilitation, one-to-ones, family support, advocacy and referrals are used to achieve program outcomes.

This is a full time, one year term position working 37.5 hours per week with 10-15 hours per week dedicated to the children’s programming. (Continuation of this position will depend on available funding)

• Working together with the Executive Director to solidify new funding opportunities and write funding reports as needed;
5 L0 C, Y* H6 Q. Y. v# x$ o• Supporting in the overall development of programs and activities that benefit our community and our children;; {" `6 u3 s3 d
• Maintaining and evaluating program outcomes;3 b. Q& {/ A; B3 y; M2 d# k
• Spearheading the further develop our social enterprise; 1 a" O5 V- R% A' i0 J# f+ S, I2 o& T
• Risk Management and succession planning;

• Maintaining comprehensive and objective contact notes related to child or conversations with others about child;6 m' C0 @& |$ X. b! H a# L
• Maintaining confidentiality related to all participant information;8 V2 ]0 E, Q; p/ U# ?" W
• Liaising and/or advocate with school personnel, parent/guardian, and child, as required;& p1 N$ X/ K) g' c3 Z2 f3 _
• Creatively planning, organizing, and evaluating small group and one-to-one activities
; N9 ]: p W+ ^% ^8 S• Participating in establishing achievable program outcomes and employ group strategies and activities to achieve the same;! { y: m" S: t: x) k9 a
• Meeting with participants on a one-to-one basis to help them achieve success with their goals;

* \; ^' k9 M3 ]7 X• Degree in communications, human services or related field;
" S7 p; p( W. h2 w• Extensive knowledge of the not for profit or voluntary sector;
' E2 E5 f* ^% `* ? L' F. n+ X) o• Knowledge of all federal and provincial legislation applicable to voluntary sector organizations;
. |& F% e0 o9 Z! ~4 |: [: e) S• Excellent oral and written communication skills with experience in writing funding proposals and reports a must;. ^+ r+ G0 p( x4 h: M) \
• The abilities to multi-task, creatively problem solve, communicate effectively, foster teamwork, and build relationships are critical.
+ w( q q9 p. J' U( @• Extensive experience in group facilitation and working with children;1 T" O/ I/ O+ x M, W
• Current certificates in Aboriginal Cultural Awareness, Suicide Intervention, Standard First Aid and CPR, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention are preferred;$ t: x6 [' K' Y2 {
• Clear CYIM, Security Clearance, and Driver’s Abstract;
9 S% F: t2 T2 J6 k9 {• Current valid drivers license;
' X8 E& w) Y! v, C• Knowledge of and comfort with the implementation of behavioural intervention strategies;
