To support the Executive Director with fundraising, special events and will be instrumental in the development of our Social Enterprise. This position will also be working directly with children 6-12 years old to teach life skills such as self esteem, communication skills, peer relations using recreation and physical activities to promote growth. Small group facilitation, one-to-ones, family support, advocacy and referrals are used to achieve program outcomes. 4 x5 H9 a+ g. K7 w
/ ~$ Z- Q7 X' i2 W2 M8 [This is a full time, one year term position working 37.5 hours per week with 10-15 hours per week dedicated to the children’s programming. (Continuation of this position will depend on available funding); I: c8 `( T9 {4 z. q

" `& H; C: B7 O) R" y9 |5 A• Working together with the Executive Director to solidify new funding opportunities and write funding reports as needed;
' O% @( \4 R5 a0 i( c• Supporting in the overall development of programs and activities that benefit our community and our children;
5 R C' I+ p7 |' y/ o; X' s1 W• Maintaining and evaluating program outcomes;$ [1 U$ }+ ]. s" J3 b5 ?+ z1 n4 A
• Spearheading the further develop our social enterprise;

Program Duties and Responsibilities include:
7 D0 C+ Q5 ^ l5 a! A$ u z$ `• Maintaining comprehensive and objective contact notes related to child or conversations with others about child;. q; k1 j& u) b( j' X6 l) v
• Maintaining confidentiality related to all participant information;
5 S4 G) E* A/ F; h) s3 l• Liaising and/or advocate with school personnel, parent/guardian, and child, as required;
0 I! @( g2 X$ a4 H• Creatively planning, organizing, and evaluating small group and one-to-one activities
& |* M3 c/ ?+ i5 i8 Q, `• Participating in establishing achievable program outcomes and employ group strategies and activities to achieve the same;
9 x9 }, b5 ?1 C- `2 L+ d" l• Meeting with participants on a one-to-one basis to help them achieve success with their goals;
2 l) N# a% @- r# ~0 M9 s) g( b• Building and maintaining positive relationships with children in groups;

+ ]* m! `+ j. s+ H8 B$ n• Degree in communications, human services or related field;* X9 `' ]* A/ N: D
• Extensive knowledge of the not for profit or voluntary sector;" W9 Z) R8 H' n4 u6 a/ A
• Knowledge of all federal and provincial legislation applicable to voluntary sector organizations;
! v+ h/ x/ p, j( S2 w) q) |" k7 Y• Excellent oral and written communication skills with experience in writing funding proposals and reports a must;0 L6 t$ J# ~2 S( y$ y( h, ~. T
• The abilities to multi-task, creatively problem solve, communicate effectively, foster teamwork, and build relationships are critical.
, e* i: M I9 I, z2 r• Extensive experience in group facilitation and working with children;
T6 [1 K3 B- [$ I& {" l• Current certificates in Aboriginal Cultural Awareness, Suicide Intervention, Standard First Aid and CPR, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention are preferred;
3 H6 ` h; \) j• Clear CYIM, Security Clearance, and Driver’s Abstract;
7 q, e! d! w& t7 C, Q$ S• Current valid drivers license;! U: {* K$ ~7 ^+ F
• Knowledge of and comfort with the implementation of behavioural intervention strategies;6 j: |' a8 T& _- F+ U ^
• Conflict resolution skills;
5 G5 J/ w0 s" ]. t' p7 w: A• Clear understanding of professional boundaries;
& h4 s2 B" H& R; Z• Committed and passionate about children;

Salary is negotiable and will depend on qualifications and experience.
