Key Responsibilities

0 c6 h h3 u. z, u& _- provide volunteers to update membership database
; @. X. i! ^2 ]1 R- j& k1 L+ i- recruiting, performing security and reference checks, providing orientation, supervising, referring and placing volunteers8 F8 C' l* O; f+ e! L# s! c6 [
- train volunteers for ISP and provide duties- L6 q, m: u* C
- train volunteers for Centre and provide duties
( r1 R9 ^% y+ s: G. G- provide volunteers for various programs
3 N( h& o( _" ?; d H- coordinate, update Volunteer Manual
7 ^/ v3 [1 ]2 n8 @) Y, i- planning and coordinating Volunteer Appreciation

- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to volunteer services

- provide volunteers for Centre activities as needed
% a8 k- v/ e; }# s* f- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as needed e2 N7 M7 _9 |( M; m
- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)# }' U* B; e+ A% D
- promoting volunteerism through various media including the 3 main Chinese newspapers, Chinese radio station and the Chinese television, Fairchild TV, brochures, pamphlets, booth displays, special events
; j# l7 b* @' H; _8 G) W! L- development and distribution of a volunteer manual , }; `: o! u" l; W
- planning and implementing training sessions for volunteers
/ L5 @1 d3 W4 |9 w- planning and implementing training sessions for staff that work with volunteers
( i% w E. d7 [5 u1 ?- consulting and reporting to the Advisory Committee on a regular basis 8 Q, h8 l; w- K' [/ W' ]* i' `

Qualifications; F$ v b" q. d/ g5 q6 Z3 X
- degree or diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community Services, Human Services or related experience and education
4 ]2 S0 q; N5 w$ X3 ^5 S- good oral and written Chinese and English skills
8 _" c# u" h0 U2 v- V# Y( l- experience in volunteer coordinating and immigrant services
! ^8 |4 c: c t0 I- leadership skills
) A x/ @3 O) e( y- management and supervision skills3 \2 E) `) I5 p+ g
- exceptional communication, interpersonal skills
