Job Description:
# h" r3 _; Z0 m6 ^2 o( E! q! S• Review damage report and estimates of repair cost and plan work to be performed
6 @( `3 k$ U7 p! N! ^: t# F• Repair and replace front end components, body components, doors and frame and underbody components
0 N& ~: x- I! E$ [ G7 W/ Y• Hammer out dents, buckles and other defects using blocks and hammers7 L7 }/ |. U, u2 Y$ I c+ b
• Operate soldering equipment or use plastic filler to fill holes, dents and seams
) D; g' n$ H. Z+ w+ c• Remove damaged fenders, panels and grills using wrenches and cutting torch and bolt or weld replacement parts into place
6 n3 ~: B/ W; Q• Straighten bent frames using frame and underbody pulling and anchoring equipment. j) ]$ X$ _8 ^$ x
• File, grind and sand repaired body surfaces using hand and power tools
! C6 \/ w/ U6 {! | v' _( y" c. i• Mask and tape auto body surfaces in preparation for painting
8 _# m* B8 R8 v% n3 t, A• Mix paint, blend and match colors
: ?) J# B' t9 D• Apply primers and repaint surfaces using brush or spray guns
& p$ M1 E- \3 }+ S, |• Repair and replace glass components such as windshields, windows and sunroofs
; c* ?4 m* X D• Repair or replace interior components, such as seat frame assembly, carpets and floorboard insulation

Education and Experience Requirements:5 {: B5 Q. J8 ~9 j. V
• Completion of secondary school is required ?7 t. T: T0 N5 e' R/ P: R3 h
• Completion of a three- to four-year motor vehicle body repair apprenticeship program
; ] a2 h: Y8 f7 xor$ _+ E \- n! j8 Z9 ^
A combination of over three years of work experience in the motor vehicle body repair trade " E4 E+ T; x( D# t7 G0 _$ H- d
• Alberta Trade certification for motor vehicle body repair (metal and paint) is compulsory $ Y# c: T9 K, ?9 y! J
