YWCA Edmonton has an opportunity for a permanent Payroll Administrator position. The Payroll Administrator is responsible for the processing the YWCA payroll, accounts receivables, and other finance related duties. & ^" A( l% s y2 z* D
Job Responsibilities:" h5 P2 N0 {6 g' v% _

• Verify and process required documents when a new employee is hired
# {2 ~7 c' m+ X- \4 r3 B, h. S9 L. l• Prepare and complete the twice monthly organization’s payroll
- E( k7 I3 Q. ]6 J/ W$ A• Ensure the maintenance of confidential up-to-date personnel records
" [' ~; P, h. r5 S% J9 _$ T1 ]- Z• Input benefit deductions into payroll

• Prepare RSP contribution file and send to RSP provider
/ e5 K9 U" Z1 F, a' G# q• Prepare New Hires report for Statistics Canada and upload it onto the Statistics Canada website* K) v9 j; A9 E3 D; B5 X
• Reconcile payroll to T-4’s and T-4A’s and prepare and send T-4’s and T-4A’s8 G. [- m: I$ i, U$ ?
• Reconcile Worker’s Compensation Board expense to payroll, and submit Worker’s Compensation Report to WCB authority; g& l+ F$ @, t' a3 `5 x
• Complete employee records of employment and salary confirmations& R( P2 p5 {; F0 F
% K* n8 v& g6 X( j
Compliance:
1 d+ M8 D$ S$ ^$ L" v( h• Ensure compliance with Canada Revenue Agency’s regulations regarding payroll
( ^5 _; N- r6 R# Y: M& e• Ensure compliance with Alberta Labour Standards and other provincial regulations regarding payroll.
" J2 n+ N3 y6 n& v' j- b• Ensure procedures for safeguarding and releasing personal information comply with Freedom of Information and Privacy regulations, provincial privacy legislation and YWCA Edmonton Human Resources Policies
8 J* M( j6 B( k) ?9 {• Act as information liaison between Worker’s Compensation Board and managers, and ensure compliance with Worker’s Compensation Board reporting+ D0 N% {% t* c) n

* P8 e8 h7 g2 k" n& o; Z5 J, c4 C( N• Complete data entry of all receipts, cash and direct deposit- X2 w# z6 ^3 U7 S4 o
• Note discrepancies between receipts and invoicing, and communicate discrepancies to appropriate department
4 D+ r( w- \& w% O' M/ ^9 }' L• Conduct debit and credit adjustments up to a limit of $10.00 and ensure manager’s approval is required for adjustments
# u& S- x# k2 i* |$ | K• Prepare and complete miscellaneous third party billing

, F+ V$ I: o( RQualifications:. c# i i. H$ {
* }7 i$ w0 q3 ?; k• Post secondary education in computerized Accounting and Payroll Programs including working knowledge of Accpac ERP
, C. h; r, ]2 Q# E3 G5 V• Completion or in process of completion for certification by the Canadian Payroll Association
d# [3 @' d2 j! Q# Y• Minimum 2 years experience in a payroll related position
7 y9 u8 c3 {& f' @- u( _• Proven experience with word processing, databases, and spreadsheets using Microsoft Office

• Establishes priorities, meets deadlines, and works well under pressure& D0 b' X. r$ E5 d/ K$ `4 c" O
• Knowledge and experience of cash handling procedures' ]/ p0 p! M* `
