YOUCAN is an acronym that stands for Youth Organizing to Understand Conflict and
# R" T; e& x5 F9 I6 s; EAdvocate Non-Violence. YOUCAN has served youth in the Edmonton area for the past
! i3 ?* x7 i+ [9 \nine years and our mission is to equip youth to engage and inspire others to
! N. \0 e+ N7 G2 Z* E' B. P1 ]% ]$ Wpeacefully resolve conflicts and develop healthy relationships in their communities.
( w! J& i& Q. O( ^7 _; T7 x# LThe YOUCAN VERTO Project is a Government of Canada and Government of Albertafunded

2 d- O) U, N" w. U, iproject that will bring at-risk youth together into a unique 15 -week groupbased
0 C( W- m& u! f: f* wemployability skills program entitled “The VERTO Project”.
+ }1 E7 P* L0 @The goal of the VERTO Program is to assist participants in obtaining and maintaining
5 L& R7 A; ]! F3 Q: V5 \the skills necessary to bring success into their lives. Verto program will expose
participants to a wide range of components focusing on: employment development,
- w# O& u7 x. v! |2 T& d+ K. a7 Hpersonal wellness, technology learning, conflict resolution, and exposure courses.
Additionally, we will incorporate topics around health and wellness, volunteerism,
and leadership courses. Verto youth will be provided with a six-month employment
