Job Description
0 ]5 q8 w$ E) c2 _  U/ y- promote the Centre’s ISP to community organizations, businesses, educational institutions, etc. by in-person presentations, phone or sending relevant information
- promote ISP in various media: newspaper, radio, newsletter, etc.
7 ^6 o7 a3 I4 m1 H8 K-  develop or update brochures, pamphlets, information packages, etc. for ISP
) M: T% {6 ^  ?5 J" A0 g3 Y" ]- provide support to ISP staff
- recruit new members to the Newcomers Club and maintain existing members
- promote, organize and coordinate the Newcomers Club’s activities
1 E8 C$ I; D6 G7 g+ h0 j' c- outreach in different areas of the city where new immigrants are concentrated
: S. E4 f* V# {) `- attend meetings relevant to ISP and outreach work to advocate issues and concerns of new immigrants
- adapt to a flexible working schedule to accommodate the program’s goals
- fulfill the goals and objectives of ISP as contracted by funder
+ T- B! I( K9 n' j9 G, @. u- report writing, data collection, conduct evaluations, budget management, etc.
- recruit and coordinate volunteers to assist with outreach activities
3 s& s! X- Y* M3 U1 D' o* k- assist with front counter services as needed and assigned
- other duties as assigned

" |5 D* ^6 f: O/ u) _5 vQualifications
0 s+ C- X9 {7 T2 N% C& {* S) P- degree/diploma in social work/human services and eligibility to be registered to area of discipline; relevant experience with community services/projects/immigrants will be considered
- knowledge of immigrant issues and concerns, community resources and services available
- experience in working with community groups and community liaison workers
- good computer skills using Microsoft and Chinese software
- speak & write Chinese (fluent in Mandarin preferred)

- good organizational and coordination skills

Other
- must undergo security and child welfare check at own expense

Salary
8 c" p8 s, g( R* I- $12/hr for 17.5hours/week, April 18 to March 31, 2007
