其实，看西人医生也不是大家想像的那样难。只要您掌握了一些常用会话和基本语汇，看医生时就不难交流。
会话一：Make an appointment:
       Hello. This is Leo Lee. I'd like to make an appointment to see Dr. Robinson.
       Certainly. What seems to be the problem?

       I'd like to have my annual check-up.
       Fine. When would you be available to come in to see Dr. Robinson?

       Any day next week in the morning would be great.
       How about next Thursday at 10 o'clock?

       That sounds great. Thank you.
       We'll see you next Thursday Mr. Lee. Goodbye.

Seeing a doctor for back pain

D:  Hello, what's the matter?
P:  Good morning. My back is killing me.

D:  How long has your back been bothering you?
P:  I've been having pain for the last couple weeks.

D:  Do you have any history of back problems?
P:  No, this is the first time.

D:  Are you taking any medicine at the moment?
P:  No, just an aspirin from time to time to get rid of / take away the pain.

D:  OK. Let's have a look at your back. Please take off your shirt.
P: Alright.

P:  I’ve been feeling sick since last week.

D:  Do you cough?
P:  Yes, very bad. Last night, I couldn’t stop coughing, and I could hardly sleep.

D:  Are you taking any medicine at the moment?
P:  Only Advil to take away the pain.

D:  OK. Please take off your shirt, and I’ll listen to your lungs.

P:  I have a terrible stomach-ache.

D:  Do you have diarrhoea?
P:  Yes, I do.

D:  How do you feel now?
P:  Yes, I feel sick.

D:  You mean you feel nauseous?
P:  That's right. I feel like throwing up. And right now I feel dizzy, too.

D:  What did you eat last night?
P:  I had some sea food and some Chinese liquor.

D:  All right. Please take off your clothes to the waist and lie down there. ... Just tell me if it hurts when I do this.
P:  It doesn't hurt. ... Ouch. It hurts there.

D:  Okay. Let's hope it's just indigestion, but we'll need to run some diagnostic tests to be sure. We'll run a blood test and we'll also need a urine sample.
P:  Can you give me something for the time being?

D: Yes, I'll give you a prescription for indigestion.
P: Thanks a lot, doctor.

During an Examination

o Lie down on the bed.
o Squeeze my hands.
o Relax your legs/arms.
o Tell me where it hurts.
o Stand and face the mirror.
o Breathe in (inhale), breathe out (exhale).
o Take off your pants/shirt/sweater etc.
o Can you lie on your left side?
o Take a deep breath in and hold it.
