$ d4 Z+ } E# z; fDevelops and updates the graphic user interface including program interface (menus, dialogue boxes, file editing, etc.) using C++ or Java or other languages to allow users to compose run scripts and edit input files for a FORTRAN model# \6 P1 q' ^6 U1 C) O/ n6 e7 v: ?( V
Generates dynamic visualization of numerical output from the model using VTK or other visualization tools, linked to explanatory documents% q5 U" x2 l8 s1 g( u! n# J
Works with staff in the MACI to determine ways to deal with the data and find innovative approaches of presenting results
& e7 Z7 B4 ~" uImplements interface and visualization on portable media (CD and website) for use in research and teaching; implements the mathematical model "ecosy" in parallel mode on computing facilities available8 M6 L3 J. j, S6 b
Provides technical support to teaching initiatives at undergraduate and postgraduate levels using the mathematical model with the graphic user interface

Qualifications! R8 z$ d# O3 J
B.Sc. in Computing Science with specialization in interface development
, V: P& ]5 }/ I9 F( a3 J4 g) g' fRelated experience with interface development; interest in terrestrial ecology and global climate change an asset; \$ P# C7 K! n. g: c
Programming in C++ and Unix, website development and maintenance
