) ?% s0 r$ x4 L" K! f$ iActually, I like Coach. When my wife and I went to outlets in the States, I encouraged her to buy three (no logo, of course) Coach leather bags.

They are about $150~200. Reasonably well made, reasonably priced. Not much more expensive than some of the brand-less ugly bags offered in Hudson Bay. And they are more frequently used than the Bottega my wife purchased earlier.

# u. ]/ ?( Z: H* @+ l# J% M/ }! ]To me, a brand is for you, if you use it as a good quality everyday item, such as Toyota cars, or Coach bags. If you have to squeeze your bank account to just to buy one to show off, it's not for you.

The country now boasts 1,900 renminbi billionaires – a third more than in 2009, and a stark jump from 24 in 2008 – and 875,000 renminbi millionaires. And so, with increasing numbers of Chinese making more money than they can spend, it’s useful to know: what do they want.

Shanghai-based Hurun report has published the findings of a survey of 401 Chinese dollar millionaires.

The average Chinese millionaire spends Rmb2.5m (US$380,000) in a year and favours a handful of top luxury brands which Hurun ranked in order: Louis Vuitton, Hermes, Chanel, Cartier, Gucci. According to the survey – which is in its seventh year – two new brands made the cut for China’s wealthy: Prada and Bentley.

$ i5 R; b, T& }: f, r& zAs would be expected, most of the luxury brands popular with China’s elite were foreign. For cars, billionaires choose the Rolls-Royce Phantom (best luxury car), and the Bentley Continental Flying Spur (best luxury self-drive).

Shui Jing Fang – a 600- year-old white liquor brand which Diageo has offered to buy for $1bn – got the crown for best high-end alcoholic drink. 珠宝的话，我觉得还真没法定最好的。设计，cutting，材料同时到位，估计也就无价了，浮云了
