Responsibilities
! l# x; Q1 S  m/ D, l3 ? Complete comprehensive intake and needs assessment process and develop referral and case plans to support newcomers in fully settling and participating in the community  
+ _; @' V0 h& c1 f Continue to follow-up with newcomers, EMCN staff and other service providers to ensure newcomers’ needs are met     
1 D) z( U" J) q0 Z) Z. p Provide holistic counselling to individuals and families, including hands-on support with accessing resources and resolving difficult issues
 Advocate on newcomers’ behalf to programs, institutions and service providers
 Research and maintain current information about programs and resources available in the community
 Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with staff of programs and services in the city and ensure EMCN clients access the most appropriate solutions to meet their needs
  u" m, V' S: l) A' r& ]. r Work as a team with EMCN staff to ensure holistic supports are provided to newcomers.

 Social work degree or diploma
- C- Q$ c* F  `8 w' X5 L; Q9 e& ` Current RSW designation preferred   
 Demonstrated experience with holistic case management and supportive counselling
* ^3 J0 i3 |: C# z; D7 @- I! | Knowledge of and experience in accessing a wide range of programs, services and supports available in the City  
4 o) w! i* U+ ]6 s7 C Ability to effectively listen, assess needs and guide people in a supportive manner
# q* I5 c( h2 l+ @ Sensitivity to cross-cultural issues
6 V( z* g9 B8 J" V: n) f' x! l Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
# l) e( k+ [5 u/ Z$ T. [! F; O Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
 Ability to perform variety of diverse tasks under time pressure.
