Responsibilities
2 R1 i' {$ q- c# H) P' k. s* i Complete comprehensive intake and needs assessment process and develop referral and case plans to support newcomers in fully settling and participating in the community  
 Continue to follow-up with newcomers, EMCN staff and other service providers to ensure newcomers’ needs are met     
 Provide holistic counselling to individuals and families, including hands-on support with accessing resources and resolving difficult issues
 Advocate on newcomers’ behalf to programs, institutions and service providers
 Research and maintain current information about programs and resources available in the community
 Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with staff of programs and services in the city and ensure EMCN clients access the most appropriate solutions to meet their needs
 Work as a team with EMCN staff to ensure holistic supports are provided to newcomers.

Qualifications
 Social work degree or diploma
 Current RSW designation preferred   
 Demonstrated experience with holistic case management and supportive counselling
- m& q2 C( B" u* j, U Knowledge of and experience in accessing a wide range of programs, services and supports available in the City  
1 o7 l) W$ W7 P$ P3 u8 z Ability to effectively listen, assess needs and guide people in a supportive manner
+ g: A, z; X  n8 i& N3 x Sensitivity to cross-cultural issues
2 x' L' F# k8 y# E2 T Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
 Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
 Ability to perform variety of diverse tasks under time pressure.
