Responsibilities
 Complete comprehensive intake and needs assessment process and develop referral and case plans to support newcomers in fully settling and participating in the community  
2 \( V  J& K/ y2 {/ A* A Continue to follow-up with newcomers, EMCN staff and other service providers to ensure newcomers’ needs are met     
" U* T9 e8 {+ b Provide holistic counselling to individuals and families, including hands-on support with accessing resources and resolving difficult issues
 Advocate on newcomers’ behalf to programs, institutions and service providers
 Research and maintain current information about programs and resources available in the community
* h" i+ K: H2 B3 d  ], A. X# Y0 E( R Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with staff of programs and services in the city and ensure EMCN clients access the most appropriate solutions to meet their needs
 Work as a team with EMCN staff to ensure holistic supports are provided to newcomers.

+ y' [5 X& W% }1 M Social work degree or diploma
 Current RSW designation preferred   
 Demonstrated experience with holistic case management and supportive counselling
- M8 s1 s4 @* z7 Z, k) Y; B& O Knowledge of and experience in accessing a wide range of programs, services and supports available in the City  
- H5 N: k, q) S: T+ y2 R Ability to effectively listen, assess needs and guide people in a supportive manner
$ G! B8 A6 ~2 ]4 m" t6 d Sensitivity to cross-cultural issues
 Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
8 O7 L4 F- B7 u  Q7 z4 d2 U1 J Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- s5 v3 V5 {, k3 E Ability to perform variety of diverse tasks under time pressure.
