Duties
' I- h+ W( R4 z5 _6 l- ?& jDelivers, sorts and picks up mail, parcels, courier documents, cylinders, crates, dangerous goods, furniture, tack boards, tables and chairs, surplus equipment, and any related incoming and outgoing items K# g! x) o2 I( n$ R/ _
Obtains signatures, scans traceable items into Palm Pilots upon delivery to departments O3 Z2 T7 `) J
Ensures Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) regulations are followed on TDG shipments inbound and outbound
! w! e( |4 R% w2 N. [$ iPrioritizes workload and requests from dispatcher and team lead: K& E; J' C% z' v2 C1 D7 t
Operates University vehicles from small vans to 3-ton trucks, including standard transmissions! o" D" _1 v2 n& O' ^
Performs related duties as required# i+ S7 e1 E1 R" o
Qualifications
' t5 U8 @; k4 k L* e4 {; WValid Class 5 drivers license - the successful candidate will be required to provide a Drivers' Abstract and have completed a Defensive Driving course in the previous 2 years.
U4 g! `7 [ L5 y) O$ bHigh School diploma; previous driving experience required M. z! ~( G8 V6 T, j
Current certification in Transportation of Dangerous Goods; Workplace Hazardous Material Information System (WHMIS) certification
- |, o7 k0 v6 A4 ITraining related to proper handling procedures of Radioactive and Biohazard materials
