Duties
* s) O+ H& r1 u4 z: f8 KDelivers, sorts and picks up mail, parcels, courier documents, cylinders, crates, dangerous goods, furniture, tack boards, tables and chairs, surplus equipment, and any related incoming and outgoing items
" D; M$ [7 Z& ]+ LObtains signatures, scans traceable items into Palm Pilots upon delivery to departments
. h- w% ]# i6 [0 T7 t5 i9 \Ensures Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) regulations are followed on TDG shipments inbound and outbound
4 p9 @' c- [3 ~, J" F CPrioritizes workload and requests from dispatcher and team lead
% L3 |3 i' O/ U' p7 DOperates University vehicles from small vans to 3-ton trucks, including standard transmissions9 [& D8 ?9 F0 ~8 H. `$ ^
Performs related duties as required! \$ c. V& d* b
Qualifications" o2 ` s0 G# m5 u* x6 E3 |; f
Valid Class 5 drivers license - the successful candidate will be required to provide a Drivers' Abstract and have completed a Defensive Driving course in the previous 2 years.! S `, |9 ]0 D5 _
High School diploma; previous driving experience required
4 Z* U* s! l' w3 p! i0 P5 x; ?' @Current certification in Transportation of Dangerous Goods; Workplace Hazardous Material Information System (WHMIS) certification* }& O- T" g. H% S! `+ ]3 N
Training related to proper handling procedures of Radioactive and Biohazard materials
/ f3 V6 w) x' f8 J2 AAbility to operate equipment including forklift, power-jack, pallet-jack, Johnson bar
