Key Responsibilities & Duties:

 Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
) A  D4 s/ C7 S) y( x3 y2 n- E Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
 Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
 Completing required paperwork.
$ ~- P, d7 C8 `) G5 |" o/ c; Q Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
 Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
 Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
 Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
 Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
8 a4 s0 N: i$ q% n1 ? Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.
8 a0 z# U$ }0 T, k& D  c Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.

Qualifications:

" f2 ?. q( L9 [% T) x  |0 ^* Y) m Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
# S; T. T" p0 z1 q3 O) U7 @* t Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
$ B4 @! e6 {1 b0 z" H Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
 Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
% }4 E' [" z, I% P* r5 X' N. ^6 } Knowledge of community resources.
* S. Z- S. @3 z4 w6 Z0 W( B$ D Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
+ j4 l" x# [8 @' D4 [# s Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

This is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
starting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period.
