 Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
- Z( E& d+ q4 x. u" s* e G Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.$ m, A! _' S; v
 Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
7 C# i3 c) ?% P( C5 p& P Completing required paperwork.
# \2 P' q# c; i! Y& P$ g Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
7 u- M. T& k: o Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
) R5 S& ?: c' z) S Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information. ' `& ^( `' V$ m v! c
 Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.$ K, G3 _2 O& q$ C: n" g
 Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.% h; \, r5 |' L- I
 Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager." a( J7 ~8 P7 A# p; s9 r
 Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.

1 F5 j9 N2 n8 ]( s) Z' T1 m Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.# }/ t# K' a# _6 t q: G+ o/ c
 Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
2 u6 r) C# [( ^ |; m* B+ U" l( M Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
1 D! |7 e2 l; t% |1 x0 l Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.# c6 x; `1 `& X7 O8 b7 V) }2 A
 Knowledge of community resources.3 @& E6 }4 G) }2 J: y
 Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.% F8 O. V- K) E C+ m5 l; d
 Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

Position:7 n j! ?' \6 T9 z7 V$ u% F
This is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50; 9 M6 K6 U2 S+ g9 c& b6 e
starting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period. |
