The YWCA has an opportunity for a Volunteers Services Coordinator. Volunteer Services supports a number of programs and events within the organization. This dynamic position is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Volunteer Coordinator to make a significant contribution to the YWCA.7 w. Y r. w, k* S. G% w

This is a full-time position working 37.5 hours/week. The Volunteer Services Coordinator reports to the Chief Executive Officer. S3 x; \8 s( F6 L* t

OPERATIONS" p1 o# ]$ R% B9 e
• Responsible for the development, orientation, coordination, recruitment, screening, training and integration of volunteers into YWCA programs, services and special events.
. p3 I0 H& R* C+ P• Assist in development and implementation of policies and procedures for volunteer services.
1 p4 T7 K! x& I& n$ G5 J( ]: H0 p3 p• Maintain the volunteer files and update the database using Raisers Edge+ _* x" u) W! z* X: Y/ F2 \
• Ensure that appropriate training is provided, on an on-going basis while giving volunteers opportunities to expand their knowledge, expertise and skills.
4 @% P9 w$ ~2 i$ _7 ]* ]• Develop and implement a comprehensive volunteer recognition program.: I/ c$ F! V6 }% [. S
• Measure and report on key volunteer metrics including satisfaction, engagement, turnover and volunteer hours.

/ ?3 e v. g6 b" w7 P. H6 u• Facilitate placement of practicum students, and grant-funded personnel throughout the agency, in order to provide appropriate career development opportunities
1 A) O) B! Q$ C7 C• Collaborate with other agencies to provide suitable placements for Persons with Developmental Disabilities. Orient volunteers and their support workers, schedule work-dates and provide direct supervision when required

SPECIAL EVENT PLANNING
7 w: Q! h9 |1 s0 `• Plan and execute the Power of Being a Girl Conference, in consultation with the CEO, Z k% L* W5 W; x! t; n0 {4 w9 L, K8 z
• Book the venue and speakers, register participants, provide on-site logistics and complete the post event wrap up

ADMINISTRATION
( i- g: j$ x# Y+ R( J8 K' g M• Develop and maintain job descriptions for each volunteer position: w d' U: }' N
• Maintain secure volunteers files in accordance with privacy legislation- @# d: U$ j \$ ?! @4 f! R
• Provide feedback on volunteers’ performance, as appropriate) h3 `! j& V0 K9 q. v
• Ensure Human Resource policies and procedures are adhered to within the department
! V* x; f# ?6 C! H• Maintain an up-to-date Policy and Procedures manual for the department and develop new policies and procedures as required
$ I7 \% H2 p; U2 h• Ensure that all forms related to volunteer recruitment and placement are up to date and implemented throughout the agency' E) [% k- U* V! e" f8 b! L
• Develop resource and orientation materials for Volunteer Services

• Ensure the program operates within approved budget and be familiar with potential variances
1 n" v+ V# g9 X6 y• Prepare volunteer statistics for grant and funding applications, for this program and other programs within the agency. Provide supporting documentation when required2 C& u/ h! Z1 [* s2 v K
0 W6 J$ [ A( L aINTERNAL/EXTERNAL RELATIONS/ @8 r3 W( `7 H5 I% a
• Act as liaison to the Y-Knit group of volunteers p: v8 I# i' J& l2 w% h
• Act as agency’s liaison to other volunteer organizations (e.g. Volunteer Management Group, Volunteer Alberta), R) F% X4 Y0 `& x# \( r7 `4 `
• Follow up with correspondence to outside agency volunteers as appropriate
9 ~1 w& v1 L/ T4 z1 Q• Attend external functions such as volunteer fairs, trade shows, and special events as required& X" ]. v" m/ d* E3 R$ d( g

0 S4 g/ X4 W( x+ ?/ L3 S) z• Minimum 2 years experience in Volunteer Coordination
. {& g" n% ]5 k0 c• Excellent organizational skills and multi-tasking ability, O$ P7 J# m l6 b$ l% w
• Demonstrated superior volunteer supervision skills% `' U5 n- p& h) q
• Collaborative working style and excellent interpersonal skills
, Q: z5 m' o* N/ m( G1 n$ S• Ability to work to meet deadlines and to work under pressure
