The YWCA has an opportunity for a Volunteers Services Coordinator. Volunteer Services supports a number of programs and events within the organization. This dynamic position is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Volunteer Coordinator to make a significant contribution to the YWCA.

• Responsible for the development, orientation, coordination, recruitment, screening, training and integration of volunteers into YWCA programs, services and special events.8 K2 l6 ^! h7 p( H* f4 ^
• Assist in development and implementation of policies and procedures for volunteer services.
* z4 X9 n& J" \4 J: j. y7 `• Maintain the volunteer files and update the database using Raisers Edge& k9 w: }+ s; _6 J2 L0 k( Q
• Ensure that appropriate training is provided, on an on-going basis while giving volunteers opportunities to expand their knowledge, expertise and skills.
6 ]* ]# G2 C9 ^% F! d1 n• Develop and implement a comprehensive volunteer recognition program.% `, H6 C4 _# q4 D" N
• Measure and report on key volunteer metrics including satisfaction, engagement, turnover and volunteer hours.
9 o7 J* V; H" N; k4 j4 [9 [• Identify and implement best practices in regards to volunteer development.$ e" w3 h* L. A1 t" k
• Facilitate placement of practicum students, and grant-funded personnel throughout the agency, in order to provide appropriate career development opportunities- n. X# U) R8 M( Z& W
• Collaborate with other agencies to provide suitable placements for Persons with Developmental Disabilities. Orient volunteers and their support workers, schedule work-dates and provide direct supervision when required

• Plan and execute the Power of Being a Girl Conference, in consultation with the CEO2 Q" W# D* ]% v2 A
• Book the venue and speakers, register participants, provide on-site logistics and complete the post event wrap up. E$ _/ U! H9 S

ADMINISTRATION
* H9 g7 s" _6 l* G; Q) F5 F• Develop and maintain job descriptions for each volunteer position# ?, m: H ]# D" B
• Maintain secure volunteers files in accordance with privacy legislation" r. E' d6 S7 I% t, H
• Provide feedback on volunteers’ performance, as appropriate
- }, S* I6 h& k( Y# i• Ensure Human Resource policies and procedures are adhered to within the department
1 n; ?5 c4 o, b. y% k* P `2 d• Maintain an up-to-date Policy and Procedures manual for the department and develop new policies and procedures as required
& c7 q9 {' d+ u8 \! m• Ensure that all forms related to volunteer recruitment and placement are up to date and implemented throughout the agency

• Maintain monthly and yearly volunteer statistics for reporting purposes* T' Y; p( i7 H2 o8 ~" o

• Ensure the program operates within approved budget and be familiar with potential variances
( ?0 O$ a7 i+ e2 P, t3 T3 b• Prepare volunteer statistics for grant and funding applications, for this program and other programs within the agency. Provide supporting documentation when required7 }5 E$ D; d# g( k# f4 {+ y
/ P5 G8 h8 j6 n0 M; @; iINTERNAL/EXTERNAL RELATIONS
- ^/ |" L H- u0 W: S" {• Act as liaison to the Y-Knit group of volunteers ^; U& `9 j" p1 Z2 ?4 t0 {2 ^
• Act as agency’s liaison to other volunteer organizations (e.g. Volunteer Management Group, Volunteer Alberta)
4 h9 ?. | C1 c; D$ m ~. j• Follow up with correspondence to outside agency volunteers as appropriate 8 v- b1 {. J0 w$ k
• Attend external functions such as volunteer fairs, trade shows, and special events as required$ f! H5 t9 w" h. ^, D. u

• Minimum 2 years experience in Volunteer Coordination

• Demonstrated superior volunteer supervision skills
% a1 v" G$ ^: h$ [5 ~2 C• Collaborative working style and excellent interpersonal skills 8 u- J4 _2 O) a4 ^5 B N. p& g
• Ability to work to meet deadlines and to work under pressure
5 Z. S+ R! ~; \5 M0 N E- k' y+ s• Ability to work in a team-based environment, with cross-functional work teams on projects 1 z) k* M, j& B( x' u
• Sound judgment and ability to maintain confidentiality
