The YWCA has an opportunity for a Volunteers Services Coordinator. Volunteer Services supports a number of programs and events within the organization. This dynamic position is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Volunteer Coordinator to make a significant contribution to the YWCA.1 V$ w ^7 {* e/ I4 E5 }$ A; C& P

OPERATIONS
& S- ]7 G0 ^2 t: }: \% O+ r9 e! r• Responsible for the development, orientation, coordination, recruitment, screening, training and integration of volunteers into YWCA programs, services and special events.0 h- Z8 d8 v/ P
• Assist in development and implementation of policies and procedures for volunteer services.# a# \& E- Q% L# v
• Maintain the volunteer files and update the database using Raisers Edge
% Z; X9 ~4 x$ d, g% Q T• Ensure that appropriate training is provided, on an on-going basis while giving volunteers opportunities to expand their knowledge, expertise and skills.9 g" T, H, E0 G6 t
• Develop and implement a comprehensive volunteer recognition program.0 f7 b7 C H: i6 F' Y; n
• Measure and report on key volunteer metrics including satisfaction, engagement, turnover and volunteer hours.
7 w' |6 g* G! T1 x• Identify and implement best practices in regards to volunteer development.
! B$ q7 b' Z/ p5 G9 v* A! U• Facilitate placement of practicum students, and grant-funded personnel throughout the agency, in order to provide appropriate career development opportunities
/ I% c: }2 F8 ?8 w h: w" c• Collaborate with other agencies to provide suitable placements for Persons with Developmental Disabilities. Orient volunteers and their support workers, schedule work-dates and provide direct supervision when required

SPECIAL EVENT PLANNING 4 h& i! m" S5 Q, _
• Plan and execute the Power of Being a Girl Conference, in consultation with the CEO
, x' h6 ^6 p+ h; K7 H• Book the venue and speakers, register participants, provide on-site logistics and complete the post event wrap up: \0 @+ S/ p+ Z" P

• Develop and maintain job descriptions for each volunteer position
' |! M* F' J: n8 e• Maintain secure volunteers files in accordance with privacy legislation& n) I v' q. T s- K0 {/ A3 v
• Provide feedback on volunteers’ performance, as appropriate+ L' l& l4 O/ Q
• Ensure Human Resource policies and procedures are adhered to within the department
/ Z9 n# O, w0 Z" i( l• Maintain an up-to-date Policy and Procedures manual for the department and develop new policies and procedures as required : P4 g6 H) E( @& r+ X7 l5 w
• Ensure that all forms related to volunteer recruitment and placement are up to date and implemented throughout the agency# ]+ Y3 F5 R' b, o. ^
• Develop resource and orientation materials for Volunteer Services
5 P3 e/ O/ R! E• Maintain monthly and yearly volunteer statistics for reporting purposes4 p/ i& T% h. B8 q" Q E% B. j
• Prepare a regular monthly program report' ~$ ~) z i7 |; v, ]9 Z8 j# M5 r+ X

) H( X7 O3 w: F+ n( u• Ensure the program operates within approved budget and be familiar with potential variances
* u0 f4 b1 I" e& B• Prepare volunteer statistics for grant and funding applications, for this program and other programs within the agency. Provide supporting documentation when required

, w R* b% h z. U& m+ T% N9 |INTERNAL/EXTERNAL RELATIONS6 x3 F5 O6 l; c1 u
• Act as liaison to the Y-Knit group of volunteers8 w) W6 }2 x" L5 J; u4 K5 G* f
• Act as agency’s liaison to other volunteer organizations (e.g. Volunteer Management Group, Volunteer Alberta), K$ T- Q# F2 m) j: Y+ \
• Follow up with correspondence to outside agency volunteers as appropriate q) n5 ?8 i' u' t |- {7 i- X4 [. }
• Attend external functions such as volunteer fairs, trade shows, and special events as required

' \$ j( q$ u+ Q# k& i• Minimum 2 years experience in Volunteer Coordination
3 t* U4 f3 k) x8 d+ r; ~( x3 |+ Y• Excellent organizational skills and multi-tasking ability
+ O1 b( N/ c; R) V3 ~* J$ G B• Demonstrated superior volunteer supervision skills
7 A+ T6 v$ F6 Y8 \' p• Collaborative working style and excellent interpersonal skills

• Ability to work in a team-based environment, with cross-functional work teams on projects . H& D- O; {) n. c9 F1 [
• Sound judgment and ability to maintain confidentiality" n2 t. y" F! h3 H; {
• Knowledge of Raisers Edge software would be beneficial & m. ^1 \+ a9 k7 _/ @
