The YWCA has an opportunity for a Volunteers Services Coordinator. Volunteer Services supports a number of programs and events within the organization. This dynamic position is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Volunteer Coordinator to make a significant contribution to the YWCA.

1 M: c8 s6 o/ X9 z' cOPERATIONS
( Z$ D& p" k' ~6 }3 G+ Q• Responsible for the development, orientation, coordination, recruitment, screening, training and integration of volunteers into YWCA programs, services and special events.
+ v$ j7 p; N6 u0 u• Assist in development and implementation of policies and procedures for volunteer services., J+ F- o0 f! ]+ N# \
• Maintain the volunteer files and update the database using Raisers Edge
$ P6 J& ^: P' u" Y# A• Ensure that appropriate training is provided, on an on-going basis while giving volunteers opportunities to expand their knowledge, expertise and skills.8 L- o7 r2 k: ~* d- ` y1 u/ T
• Develop and implement a comprehensive volunteer recognition program.
" ^4 f+ t& K6 E, V3 v9 X Y0 X• Measure and report on key volunteer metrics including satisfaction, engagement, turnover and volunteer hours.0 y; c2 Z# i% f# O
• Identify and implement best practices in regards to volunteer development.
. |/ m2 W7 T0 W7 {& S' d$ Y3 N1 N• Facilitate placement of practicum students, and grant-funded personnel throughout the agency, in order to provide appropriate career development opportunities# _8 s6 {' B9 K j: K, z1 O3 E- D" Z
• Collaborate with other agencies to provide suitable placements for Persons with Developmental Disabilities. Orient volunteers and their support workers, schedule work-dates and provide direct supervision when required9 a. m6 O0 x* h/ H3 p

- Y: h5 Q2 ~$ A I$ ~• Book the venue and speakers, register participants, provide on-site logistics and complete the post event wrap up

ADMINISTRATION
, P3 l# F! n) p3 _6 ?$ W) |2 x& n3 X• Develop and maintain job descriptions for each volunteer position
- r, C: G. J' ?) p• Maintain secure volunteers files in accordance with privacy legislation) v5 s+ s! ]. ]& D
• Provide feedback on volunteers’ performance, as appropriate. }* Q; ^+ |& \% q
• Ensure Human Resource policies and procedures are adhered to within the department+ \/ i/ E) | S% u+ g( v' K3 u
• Maintain an up-to-date Policy and Procedures manual for the department and develop new policies and procedures as required
6 h+ e8 R- {# [0 f L. m; q• Ensure that all forms related to volunteer recruitment and placement are up to date and implemented throughout the agency

• Maintain monthly and yearly volunteer statistics for reporting purposes3 F2 x& Y7 z V2 i
• Prepare a regular monthly program report% m$ _- P% l$ H) _9 ]6 w

• Ensure the program operates within approved budget and be familiar with potential variances+ t* ^* j/ k! b0 c# K! D4 O8 C
• Prepare volunteer statistics for grant and funding applications, for this program and other programs within the agency. Provide supporting documentation when required

INTERNAL/EXTERNAL RELATIONS' _# b9 m+ z- l, F2 b4 s0 z0 A) o
• Act as liaison to the Y-Knit group of volunteers
4 Z$ o, |! h% \) x3 Q7 Q- b4 E• Act as agency’s liaison to other volunteer organizations (e.g. Volunteer Management Group, Volunteer Alberta)
$ o% V4 h# u+ a. E; p+ L, A• Follow up with correspondence to outside agency volunteers as appropriate 0 y7 Q2 i) M' L1 Y" T
• Attend external functions such as volunteer fairs, trade shows, and special events as required' L- S- F. W, @) B: Q

7 l4 Z# M& n4 S1 h• Minimum 2 years experience in Volunteer Coordination
0 C2 F1 ]# D$ l• Excellent organizational skills and multi-tasking ability
6 `4 n9 Z5 ]7 N6 [2 f- x• Demonstrated superior volunteer supervision skills
9 I' M+ _; ], J- B/ [• Collaborative working style and excellent interpersonal skills

• Ability to work in a team-based environment, with cross-functional work teams on projects # m! d- V& S. M" w+ [

• Knowledge of Raisers Edge software would be beneficial & B- V4 ?- d+ c
