& |+ O3 I* ?: p- O& K( BKey Responsibilities & Duties:

 Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
1 Q( }7 N/ w9 ?) Z Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
 Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
. k8 w: m, C8 A- k) _) |: r Completing required paperwork.
 Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
 Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
8 x( \% Z) _5 V+ j5 F Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
  E  C  F+ o4 t3 u1 N/ z+ T& z Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
5 C) Y8 V* R# }: h" v Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
. A- G* h- {5 i" _8 F# G- U Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.
# D1 s, T' k- x) E. A) k Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.


Qualifications:

 Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
 Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
 Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
- J$ \) W1 G5 d' N9 p. c Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
 Knowledge of community resources.
4 Y& X( G( c: U, n1 ~; b' b" j6 b4 @ Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
 Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

Position:
# v# D* a$ F- H6 q1 B; [/ zThis is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
starting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period.
