Key Responsibilities & Duties:

 Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
% T$ B5 {4 W9 p- R  ~ Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
: |; m- d) i: N Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
 Completing required paperwork.
2 T) |6 k9 h1 q Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
 Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
1 K$ `/ z$ I1 ?, v: Z' `9 W: m Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
 Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
 Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
( [9 t$ a- k$ _/ ^9 B: v3 V, G0 C Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.
 Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.

Qualifications:

 Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
 Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
- K5 x9 s9 M" `) }) j8 W! f. m Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
 Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
2 I' u7 _% M2 `$ w) V Knowledge of community resources.
 Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
 Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

Position:
This is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
starting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period.
