Key Responsibilities & Duties:

 Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
' p* F) Z$ \6 Z( t( D8 x6 g Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
 Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
  w/ q( P: |2 R0 q$ b+ h  L& J Completing required paperwork.
 Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
' y7 M9 r2 H6 ]' M% ~8 ^0 E Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
 Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
% d+ S# X5 H3 u( J% `, l- f) }# P( ~ Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
& b7 y* z; S- P; `; u4 W Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
" ^4 w- N! D6 B+ z$ c Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.
( o4 x, F+ y& ^" v0 L9 m Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.

Qualifications:
  U4 @$ }7 g8 i2 g1 @. f/ B
 Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
 Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
/ C0 x) K& P7 i  \' O$ w" M Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
$ v) T2 ]! j5 {2 B Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
' g7 |! b" j+ l8 T" H Knowledge of community resources.
 Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
 Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

Position:
This is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
starting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period.
