Key Responsibilities & Duties:

 Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
0 {4 L9 c& n, L; o Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
& M7 x9 T9 A: S" G% v Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
 Completing required paperwork.
 Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
2 P, n3 V$ B" I; e Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
 Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
 Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
- i/ S/ x0 ]' U2 l& y8 i/ w Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
2 u3 d. H& x" D7 `4 l Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.
 Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.

Qualifications:

8 G* i5 E2 i; v/ L5 A" g  m Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
# ]% ^% B, W1 p: K  w9 f Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
 Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
) o2 H3 u5 t, U( V- W9 U  W( N Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
 Knowledge of community resources.
 Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
 Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

Position:
This is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
starting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period.
