$ D( _- z' @, M% Q) |/ JKey Responsibilities & Duties:

 Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
$ T/ u% w- T: y) K1 E+ i Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
* T& }0 f7 w0 _+ y( E( k: ^+ k# g4 @ Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
3 _* b# A5 q8 b9 e' K3 R Completing required paperwork.
 Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
 Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
% D8 \4 T2 \$ z8 }# g Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
4 ^! y, b) e$ Q Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
2 ^  L% Z; {& D+ A3 k2 y4 a% d$ t Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
 Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.
 Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.

Qualifications:
4 |1 Z% L9 L/ T, z, H, o! x
 Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
 Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
+ M6 X# w5 X& X) [ Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
( Q% l& z2 k1 {) y# i Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
 Knowledge of community resources.
& E/ Z. ?7 a$ M7 ^2 M8 ^ Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
 Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

This is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
2 o9 }6 `& g# e5 x$ xstarting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period.
