Key Responsibilities & Duties:

. G" T) d- B) Q8 _1 ?7 X Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
 Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
; ^0 i% R) u% _; L0 N1 n4 @2 O7 R Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
 Completing required paperwork.
 Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
1 P0 E9 s& E, E+ O, @5 y/ L/ U Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
 Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
  _) v2 Z' B; } Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
6 Q. D& Y9 \" J' {  Y$ g Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
$ R$ S. l3 v1 m" @1 z Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.
! X9 ^. S3 Z' i Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.


' x# j' o' i8 K. g, r! KQualifications:

2 W8 Y: F9 Y1 F5 M- @0 f. l  q Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
 Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
 Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
' N+ p* b: Z& ^3 R  [ Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
+ B. ?  G6 }( r" D Knowledge of community resources.
- M; W- g+ ^/ x- R9 J  j Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
6 d$ C  g) ?0 K- @0 p6 E$ s4 g3 q Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

Position:
This is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
starting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period.
