. ?, V6 B9 V1 B$ M! eAs a member of the Business and Data Architecture team, the Data Architect/Business Intelligence Architect is responsible for the overall design and architecture of the company’s enterprise data, business intelligence systems, reporting solutions and ETL processes.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

7 Z( s( _, X, n  `• Develop and maintain data models, data architecture, data management standards and conventions, data element naming standards and metadata standards.
+ y, v1 D: A( [" B& b  Q• Provide guidance and consultation to individuals and groups to ensure on-going projects are in alignment with the corporate data architecture.
" A  j, x2 ^, [" s# F. j• Designing stable and high performance application solutions with complex requirements and demanding specifications.
Bi /Reporting/ETL
• Participates in defining the BI roadmap for Alberta Blue Cross.
• Participates in designing and developing the architecture for all business intelligence solutions.  
• Contributes to the design of business intelligence application solutions including database design, ETL, report design and analytics integration.
$ [+ n1 e4 y3 r- g2 K% F7 P• Leads BI analysis and design activities.
• Defines processes to move BI services into development, test, and production environments
, P1 `) f2 p2 B: F1 j( n, Z7 A6 Z• Establishes the BI Meta data strategy.
4 |) `' j8 A) M" s. K• Documentation and presentation of business requirements for a variety of audiences including clients, executives, project managers, end users and technical designers and developers.

0 D& k; [6 \$ d( e2 V- G7 fSKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
- D' Q) x7 q5 _0 r' `+ C2 t• A Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science or related technical discipline.
• 10+ years experience in data management and designing/developing and implementing Business Intelligence solutions.
• Expert level understanding of relational database concepts, dimensional database concepts and database architecture and design.
  ?! J# E( o4 u0 h* n7 R6 K$ }• Knowledge and experience in development of operational data stores, data mart and data warehouse architectures.
- F9 J; e$ e# ^$ M  f; @" M# P( M9 p• Experience in designing data models to support OLTP and BI solutions with (ODS’s, data marts, and data warehouses).
• Knowledge and experience with industry standard ETL and standard reporting tools.
" N! [" B" N0 K; A& a• Exceptional consultation skills are critical, with the ability to convey technical ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences and contribute within a team environment.
' Z% y! h" o4 a7 c1 V; X; q• Exemplary interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are required.
• Exceptional planning, organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills are a must.
• Extensive or considerable experience with Oracle products such as Oracle RDBMS 11G and lower, Designer, Oracle Warehouse Builder, BI publisher, Oracle Reports.
" B1 }  b  e! m• Experience with Oracle Portal and Application Server (J2EE and Oracle 10gAS) is preferred.
