As a member of the Business and Data Architecture team, the Data Architect/Business Intelligence Architect is responsible for the overall design and architecture of the company’s enterprise data, business intelligence systems, reporting solutions and ETL processes.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Enterprise Data
4 g! t* p  T$ [1 @4 _8 G. g• Develop and maintain data models, data architecture, data management standards and conventions, data element naming standards and metadata standards.
• Provide guidance and consultation to individuals and groups to ensure on-going projects are in alignment with the corporate data architecture.
3 m* A0 h5 R; [' J" U• Designing stable and high performance application solutions with complex requirements and demanding specifications.
Bi /Reporting/ETL
  Z4 k- g0 R* V6 J' ~• Participates in defining the BI roadmap for Alberta Blue Cross.
3 }' V( A# D( U• Participates in designing and developing the architecture for all business intelligence solutions.  
) G6 Y3 l+ B# M• Contributes to the design of business intelligence application solutions including database design, ETL, report design and analytics integration.
• Leads BI analysis and design activities.
• Defines processes to move BI services into development, test, and production environments
% f8 ?0 l/ z) S' x/ _• Establishes the BI Meta data strategy.
3 |% z( @- z9 f# Q% r: T' y• Documentation and presentation of business requirements for a variety of audiences including clients, executives, project managers, end users and technical designers and developers.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
- c7 }( p# n- ~- `• A Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science or related technical discipline.
• 10+ years experience in data management and designing/developing and implementing Business Intelligence solutions.
1 K, W5 Q* b' w  Z/ k( u• Expert level understanding of relational database concepts, dimensional database concepts and database architecture and design.
! B: I" t' ^- }; V" r8 R, U) ~7 p• Knowledge and experience in development of operational data stores, data mart and data warehouse architectures.
& W8 [2 v( D' g2 |# N7 D1 [! Y• Experience in designing data models to support OLTP and BI solutions with (ODS’s, data marts, and data warehouses).
• Knowledge and experience with industry standard ETL and standard reporting tools.
• Exceptional consultation skills are critical, with the ability to convey technical ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences and contribute within a team environment.
8 L7 z" R3 O5 k( O! o$ R7 D. Q0 w1 Q• Exemplary interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are required.
• Exceptional planning, organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills are a must.
• Extensive or considerable experience with Oracle products such as Oracle RDBMS 11G and lower, Designer, Oracle Warehouse Builder, BI publisher, Oracle Reports.
/ Y/ P! [6 o! E9 w/ m  v  ^3 D0 P• Experience with Oracle Portal and Application Server (J2EE and Oracle 10gAS) is preferred.
