( w4 n$ C( A+ G6 F. M9 j1 i6 E) g' Z% Bexecution of the YWCA Strategy

Specific responsibilities include:

• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of 2 S3 u- ~& `/ ~( q/ }; _* I4 L3 t7 O
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by
3 q% B- N; {, H% ]: q1 p6 Nthe Board of Directors; ' a9 ]' j, i0 s- {
• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations 3 u- U6 w8 J R! V6 A1 Y
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to
# g# M% I0 ^9 f4 U' D2 X! }enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities; 0 q4 C X+ n+ c
• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and
$ ]: O# {; T0 J7 v$ wobjectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by
" |8 A, N1 T* R& I! Y5 B# Tthe board; 3 B" A% b i, b7 C, S2 _4 W( J
• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget;
1 b$ A* O" s9 I0 j' `/ ]• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion
4 N8 p) y4 W0 O6 e# s/ ~the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings; 2 c' l" P5 G: g: ?
• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the
1 Z8 G! o. `2 _8 w9 D* }changing needs of the organization and community;
7 _3 a" `9 P8 B+ B• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue
! e* z4 r2 ?6 f$ Icommitments;
- F- r+ j! J( R& M. Q( a• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;
# S* J% k. P. E1 ]( z; R% Q: _6 Y. ~• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
; N+ w; {+ ^1 x6 M2 r9 V; A3 Q. \selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems; ) U9 v" q2 v# f2 a
• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed; 2 u+ G- m7 d5 E3 T+ V8 u
• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to 4 b8 k: m W( y" H% h: Y, j2 c
effectively and positively represent the association;

. p w! x+ [ a+ d• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring
) z) G" ~5 v8 c _* wthe implementation of systems to manage these risks; ) v; k, p- W, k% e3 F) d) |
• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
6 i: U' |% G* f3 c; U1 Wperformance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED
0 G. Q: r' s9 d, X) b9 D# N) Rthe forthcoming year; / K* [! k: t/ f/ x
• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical ; ~% A% D* U7 C' h# B/ L6 t8 `
practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of 6 o! t* x3 V! P
YWCA Canada; and ! i' W1 c9 }. G3 Q$ y
• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task
9 g9 d/ c7 Y4 c4 h- J5 ]Forces.

Required Professional Designation / Certification 0 d5 H+ K6 N% k! L
• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience.

Required Experience
7 T& s3 s) w2 C• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; . M3 K `1 V7 A' @7 p3 d3 z
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation
9 T/ x4 i/ A1 S! [# q) F. M" p7 Q! W9 oabilities;
& @% E1 H5 \" u% P+ {$ }4 ^6 \• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,
1 e* t5 H* M2 G6 R0 s* i. MNetworking and Fundraising;
" w5 w. v# E* n3 p; r( ?% f• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting ! W7 N9 R7 w" V$ q

• Experience advocating, empowering and championing women and girls from a women . P- x% Q5 z' A+ V8 S
