Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and

3 o6 C$ c) y" |) X) e0 z7 l• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of # C. z4 J9 `# @6 N0 Y
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by / r: ~; ]) N6 F) G/ o5 @/ {
the Board of Directors;
( T9 [0 }: o4 b/ n" e& F/ Z) ]• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations 8 X- K8 b' M# m/ q
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to
4 K$ G& ]1 b7 w% g* _enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities; * G* o) p1 Y( R( [. _
• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and . w2 s; F3 E: S/ E6 b. \7 `
objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by 4 j- E3 V6 c4 |2 n

• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget; 5 n. ~3 k, F; j+ s
• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion
( M# P; Z& r) m/ gthe development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings; ! p6 \( f( X6 d) e" n
• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the
/ L2 v$ h5 Z3 ~' ^changing needs of the organization and community;
4 {% z* c1 A% E5 p• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue 3 j% y, s+ ?! K8 J
commitments;
" Q% ~' E9 f R% A7 |• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders; 9 ~2 d+ p" G) i# _
• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective " d1 ]( b5 b: b4 h
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems; 5 H* \7 G, y8 B$ u6 I
• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed; , U# Y/ _5 S+ f9 `
• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to + {. P" U5 |6 @$ e1 {
effectively and positively represent the association; 5 g8 t; ?; }' O, \9 ~# y

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring
7 f) z2 V+ F1 U/ Q; Hthe implementation of systems to manage these risks;
; K1 r. p, L0 {, y0 w• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal # w$ S) O* a5 U' ?9 ~) k
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED 9 ?2 B3 \: h! o" e/ C

• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical 9 ~, y% y$ r2 j# x* G% m! J
practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of 9 U7 H, E* F E! u
YWCA Canada; and

Required Skills & Abilities

• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience.

Required Experience ( y z6 Z/ Q4 a; U- k- @$ L
• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; 7 k0 g6 E, v. B% \4 t
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation ( v4 c% i3 F; I ~" }
abilities;
6 J! a, n. L3 @% N% x, ~: [, u1 W• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations, - T3 S) ]0 }4 @4 `. e( h
Networking and Fundraising; 2 E1 ^/ v& J5 s5 c
• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting , G8 d m2 J5 i) o: c2 I8 k$ Y

• Experience advocating, empowering and championing women and girls from a women
