5 W9 F( c C! W. ]5 gReporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and
& ^9 ?6 W- Z$ Oexecution of the YWCA Strategy

• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of
6 Z" e: b. P( w4 ~4 D. ?the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by e; W% }: x' g2 [! T
the Board of Directors;
. h5 }# I- C4 A5 u* P: V/ W9 e8 f) l• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations . y* K9 q2 Y* v+ M4 F) p
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to 0 ~5 y* G5 o" I# r' N* D# ? g4 ^4 m* R
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;
% N: z8 Q+ j" Z' L• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and ^& Y* c3 S5 H. b# \% x ?
objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by
# z4 ^! M" m6 y& q) x/ F! tthe board;
0 i) B( h) R' V* `• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget; * E: m$ h# y; i6 }
• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion 1 a0 E6 R4 k# q0 v& Z: N. U
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
6 T9 J+ `; J" l' f• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the 3 u7 s0 a$ R _" w1 k# M+ _: T
changing needs of the organization and community;
7 h. k) J3 ]( E' ~• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue
0 Z3 s: w" t* G2 rcommitments;
2 j) ~; q! P1 B• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;
% i& f2 Q' c& A* D. o. }• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
0 B! i# y$ P/ X, V( iselection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;
. K& I7 z- Z& I ~$ j1 M• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed; 1 }0 j) z5 ^1 |+ o) Z6 w4 Q& @
• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to
( T4 Z( a/ f) {; H% O; O- seffectively and positively represent the association;

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring
) ]/ }8 M! k8 ]) o- ?$ w6 l1 zthe implementation of systems to manage these risks;
% B: v+ Q* {9 b* p4 S• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
" i3 W5 [8 l4 @performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED
7 c9 k% c& I( L3 [: i8 Lthe forthcoming year; % a$ d; [% V: B9 \! y
• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical 2 H" @; }6 P' Y0 b9 l
practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of
8 ]( Q1 O5 [. D# F8 | n9 x9 s6 i/ LYWCA Canada; and

Required Experience
- k1 F ^! ]9 m* a, T• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
2 m. o% Y- o, }' B# \ y3 H0 e• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation 0 y/ w. p8 b4 y w) ]4 ?$ \
abilities;
* f( u/ f( P" F/ l• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations, ( \3 M; }+ w, G& C
Networking and Fundraising;
, S1 N4 z/ t' F: m• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting
7 d' X Z% g/ k; k a; B0 ?' j9 y5 A3 band financial statements; and
