execution of the YWCA Strategy . ^9 k5 p6 O; y+ ]0 U! y0 J

• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of # d& [, _8 z* {
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by
) ~+ n9 V' @( z# x! v& v# v# Wthe Board of Directors;
4 ?* r5 E0 j6 [+ W; r• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations & a2 K+ n) F9 _: E; Q: y% u: `$ u
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to 0 E" r4 ^. C, J# N' W
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities; + W% k1 v* a7 a8 ^
• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and + z' @. Y. I8 {# ~$ O
objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by
5 G" n8 L( |9 Z& [9 ]) O e: uthe board;
# m% E" |+ m) j( c8 U• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget; 2 I! d, z3 F/ F K9 x1 j
• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion 1 ^. [+ u& G I0 L' ]
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
5 a5 W6 m3 y+ l• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the
8 r9 \+ s! U8 s/ g- cchanging needs of the organization and community;
* C' _6 s9 l% d6 k9 z; X! y• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue

: z6 k9 |, z! u+ U. R. p3 @" n• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;
5 }! Q: a3 R4 M1 h, V• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
$ @1 [ U3 L# jselection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems; - \+ }# [: W P2 L! `
• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring
# v5 @" A8 P2 O4 W& Dthe implementation of systems to manage these risks; ; F1 L( y. l* z5 }, _" C- Q
• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
! ?4 e0 T% ~3 C9 Y4 s, o( c$ [performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED
+ [& Y9 ]. m0 N& uthe forthcoming year;
. ~& b+ F4 e- m K6 D7 g8 n9 @• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical
1 R, F: e5 ?* G( {3 Wpractices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of

• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task

• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience.

+ }* ~# t# d, Z! c) |. D; M3 S• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; ; N" R6 l3 J/ f# ]- a0 r7 w; p
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation
" v& N! k+ W9 N9 L9 Fabilities; 2 D1 s. x2 @6 n/ J; U
• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations, 6 k" Z9 q4 O7 e0 I$ m
Networking and Fundraising; , f$ q, k4 }; q5 K
• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting + l" E# }9 Q" U) M
and financial statements; and
