Position Summary:
1 N2 ]4 m/ E4 @) R4 Y8 m0 EThe IT Small Systems Specialist will be responsible for providing day to day technical support for SYSCO Edmonton. Responsibilities will include equipment management and support, basic network support and troubleshooting.0 |' B! }5 l; h

§ Provide high level of customer service to internal customers9 N# o" E7 K* U9 J% x' o
§ Provide small systems technical support; troubleshoot problems and either resolve them independently or coordinate third party involvement in resolution 6 E+ r- `" A/ |4 g( h
§ Hardware and software installation, configuration and implementation! q$ L! Y9 {' l' Q |5 K
§ Ensure software and hardware standards and other policies are adhered to at all times

§ Become familiar with in-house software applications (AS/400, EXE/warehouse management system, SOS, VRFS, Impromptu, Lotus Notes & others) with goal of becoming in-house expert

§ University or College degree in Computer Science and at least 2 years of related work experience; L U7 }# ~* u) l8 V' P- n; F
§ Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with others and work under minimal supervision9 ~4 o* P) \! N0 E2 j
§ Fundamental commitment to customer service
, p" i; C, N& q- G6 I6 n§ Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills and the ability to work on multiple issues
& I7 p( W7 P& G# e" r§ Proven knowledge of Dell, IBM, Xerox and Lexmark hardware
_; p% c' K" z§ Experience installing, supporting and troubleshooting client desktop software
4 U& T" f) n* m; I2 M§ Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, install and support computer users with Windows 98/NT/2000/XP in a domain environment, Ethernet, TCP/IP, routers, switches, concentrators, Network Management tools (e.g. virus protection, server monitoring) and with Xerox and /or Lexmark printer problems! The IT Manager will provide hands on management of all aspects of the local IT operations for SYSCO Edmonton - managing the information systems on a cost effective basis while ensuring user demands are met. This person will work closely with the SYSCO Canada Corporate IT group (located in Calgary and Toronto). 6 S* u) D7 Q7 f! y, p

§ Manage and coach staff in IT group8 O( x' D. X7 v9 G( D$ Y% k
§ Oversee and provide small systems technical support8 h( j! {- e& w1 u7 [! g
§ Reporting to the Director of Finance and management on a monthly basis on status of IT projects and initiatives$ [* j+ B& W, h3 L" g, m
§ Work with auditors (internal and external) – respond to requests, prepare response to audit reports2 U( C D$ b9 E' z7 |" W7 d
§ Hardware and software configuration and implementation
" t" w3 T( ?' u! c& F" `; ^3 k§ Manage and track all technology assets including ensuring that all software licenses are documented and adhered to+ c/ I/ ^- j7 y3 V. p, i2 j& r
§ Ensure software and hardware standards and other policies are adhered to at all times# a1 B9 q! p) c5 W2 \7 L
§ Perform network administration at the domain level; managing user accounts and network access
! B7 p6 m% K, K( ?1 F+ y§ Develop and maintain backup and restoration procedures
! x2 G( s& }! A9 m( O§ Develop and track IT budget as well as IT capital spending plan) l# P' | O, U6 |" ?2 `, M
§ Liaise with Corporate IT Helpdesk: x# _3 `* k" n) ~- d
§ Become familiar with in-house software applications (AS/400, EXE/warehouse management system, SOS, VRFS, Impromptu, Lotus Notes & others) with goal of becoming in-house expert

§ Manage user ID request and approval process in conjunction with Director of Finance

§ Develop and maintain good working relationships with IT related suppliers and service providers
