Responsibilities
4 y5 \: F! \  L9 z$ M% HAssists in the planning, organization and implementation of meaningful programs for the residents of the Extended Care Centre in collaboration with the Activation Manager.
& A! ^& |( h- O- U- _3 UWorks co-operatively with the Activation Manager, facility volunteers, families and other staff members.
Maintains appropriate resident and department records including assessments, evaluations of planned programs detailing anticipated individual participation.
" @% ~) j/ M: J) N9 [& FMaintains effective communication and good human relations with residents, families, volunteers and staff of other departments.
Is knowledgeable of the Resident Bill of Rights/Governing Principles and endeavors to promote it.
8 z4 I; x  j4 P* s: g' BParticipates in team conferences to plan, develop and assess individual resident care plans.
) V+ n! ]8 }! W" K. ZQualifications
Must have a community college recreation certificate or diploma or equivalent, as approved by the Activation Manager. Experience working with seniors, particularly in a long term care setting.
Must be able to communicate in written and verbal form and maintain an acceptable standard of behaviour and appearance.
Computer skills an asset.
4 j5 v- L: z- Q8 f+ B* S9 D. L( FAn energetic, compassionate person who enjoys working with the elderly and who possess excellent problem solving, planning and creative abilities.
Proficiency in a second language is an asset.
