Responsibilities
Assists in the planning, organization and implementation of meaningful programs for the residents of the Extended Care Centre in collaboration with the Activation Manager.
# U; c( G; m" V# Q& W, n# jWorks co-operatively with the Activation Manager, facility volunteers, families and other staff members.
) k" s  u5 t5 l6 r1 BMaintains appropriate resident and department records including assessments, evaluations of planned programs detailing anticipated individual participation.
, }  u  I1 w, r- s7 VMaintains effective communication and good human relations with residents, families, volunteers and staff of other departments.
Is knowledgeable of the Resident Bill of Rights/Governing Principles and endeavors to promote it.
Participates in team conferences to plan, develop and assess individual resident care plans.
2 N8 P/ k! `3 C9 b. TQualifications
Must have a community college recreation certificate or diploma or equivalent, as approved by the Activation Manager. Experience working with seniors, particularly in a long term care setting.
( b$ a* r9 M) T# ]6 HMust be able to communicate in written and verbal form and maintain an acceptable standard of behaviour and appearance.
Computer skills an asset.
4 B, r2 X' I6 h% rAn energetic, compassionate person who enjoys working with the elderly and who possess excellent problem solving, planning and creative abilities.
Proficiency in a second language is an asset.
