Responsibilities
( [. y0 I' O; i/ p# c) S5 UAssists in the planning, organization and implementation of meaningful programs for the residents of the Extended Care Centre in collaboration with the Activation Manager.
Works co-operatively with the Activation Manager, facility volunteers, families and other staff members.
5 S3 A1 i$ e2 gMaintains appropriate resident and department records including assessments, evaluations of planned programs detailing anticipated individual participation.
9 z! K( O) N/ PMaintains effective communication and good human relations with residents, families, volunteers and staff of other departments.
Is knowledgeable of the Resident Bill of Rights/Governing Principles and endeavors to promote it.
7 r* S& @- s# s6 o5 ]% rParticipates in team conferences to plan, develop and assess individual resident care plans.
Qualifications
Must have a community college recreation certificate or diploma or equivalent, as approved by the Activation Manager. Experience working with seniors, particularly in a long term care setting.
+ ]: `/ m+ |* r  ~* C1 N" A, zMust be able to communicate in written and verbal form and maintain an acceptable standard of behaviour and appearance.
Computer skills an asset.
, J5 I% ^# r" q1 o8 X; V/ B6 T( f3 cAn energetic, compassionate person who enjoys working with the elderly and who possess excellent problem solving, planning and creative abilities.
