In this and any flu season, it is important to take responsibility for
" `7 m' W" \, l; A+ f( z2 |; ~2 ]1 n2 [your own health. Alberta Health and Wellness points out that the
- i* | B9 M u8 x# t9 Einfluenza virus is contagious and is spread person to person via close
' J4 r7 P! a8 b1 J! ~ dcontact. The virus also rests on hard surfaces such as counters and
! u% n; \$ ~/ N8 v' O9 v1 e9 Gdoorknobs and can spread when people touch contaminated surfaces and2 ?7 z! k# m4 e( B# [
then unknowingly transfer the virus to their eyes, nose or mouth.
* J5 `, X# m/ h. n4 u- ?0 ~2 OPracticing good preventive hygiene (e.g., wash your hands and cover your+ `3 t! N0 a, Q" t
cough) and following the self-care practices as outlined by Alberta4 f `1 Y+ S: X( o& J4 y9 @
Health and Wellness will greatly assist in minimizing the chance of
& u) P! r* }( I% F; Ainfection.
