It makes a very attractive mulch as well, so if you have a lot of it I suggest spreading it on top of autumn leaves around trees or shrubs, or at the back of the bed where weeding is a chore. z+ E* H0 m' Z* s6 x! h5 R! U
7 A4 J& j8 D A) F' r$ E- S4 bSpruce needles are another matter - because they are thicker, and have a pointy end, they can poke you as you spread your compost - wear gloves and you will be fine.
