- N' ?# T& t' x; N4 d) o$ }7 N, S0 w% XThis fall, the Edmonton Region Immigrant Employment Council (ERIEC) will be launching a mentorship pilot program, where we aim to match skilled immigrants with mentors in their occupations.
Eligibility Criteria
All potential mentee candidates are required to meet the following criteria:
7 [" h4 s& R' z8 A: H9 z8 Q; O$ n9 @5 R•An internationally educated professional living in Canada for three years or less
2 I& g2 V3 P) t•Have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent post secondary education
  @9 i( O+ ]$ i9 |8 U& s+ c! V9 s) Z•Have Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) level 7 or higher in oral English
•At least three years work experience in their area of expertise outside of Canada
7 R0 `# g# V! @•No prior Canadian work experience in their field
5 E8 b0 R+ G7 V6 [% _  H/ c- w•Be unemployed or underemployed – working for 20 hours a week or less
) S- w1 ~' F1 {- C2 M•Be eligible to work in Canada
•Have a job ready resume and have completed a job search workshop
2 Y6 ~5 K1 p2 `" C•Lack access to professional networks
  I$ N  m+ g4 f" {  e! d( J' _•Be motivated to participate and be open to learning
Time Commitment
+ a0 F* d5 D7 C" _0 cThe maximum number of hours involved in the ERIEC mentorship program is 6 hours a month for a total of 24 hours over 4 months.  This works out to approximately one and a half hours per week.
