Police Service Preparation Program

This program is for immigrants and members of visible minorities who have an interest in a career in law enforcement.

Start date: November 2, 2009 End date: March 31, 2010.

Location: Edmonton Mennonite Centre for Newcomers, 8914 118 Avenue

Entrance Criteria
* p- @! {1 R2 [' iYou must be/have:! V) k4 p# Z0 @) F1 Y6 H. }
• Alberta High School Diploma (or equivalent)7 Q: p; |1 [/ |' b
• Unemployed or underemployed
% z& E8 v# x: Q• Minimum 18 years of age2 k; D* p2 P# d5 L) n' j0 P
• Good moral character
/ S$ p3 Y' }" Y) d• Good health and physical condition$ ?/ N! s+ [* t! N
• Good written and verbal communication skills – must be at a CLB 6+
+ M1 E3 D0 x: N, C6 w w• Must possess a valid class 5 driver’s license
: H& m! r/ z% j2 ~0 M5 k1 d• No criminal convictions for which a pardon has not been granted
