[6 zCHANGE FOR CHILDREN ASSOCIATION (CFCA) is an Alberta-based, charity with 33 years of experience working for sustainable, community development in Latin America and Africa and providing a comprehensive global education program in Canada. CFCA is lead by a volunteer Board of Directors and a small, flat-structured core staff which includes: International Projects Program Manager, Education/Public Engagement Program Manager and Funds Development Program Manager. CFCA’s projects and programming are funded by private donors, government grants, foundations, fundraising events, and campaigns., D* {# J2 k  H! N/ u

$ v: \& g# K) h; n0 M# r" Q$ x• Act as first point of contact for donors, partners, members, other stakeholders, and the general public.8 U' ^; A0 b: i

+ T3 L  r% e& `) K& h• Complete data entry in various programs.

• Maintain an organized filing system for office records, meeting minutes, government registrations and donor records; Process annual government and charitable registrations forms.

• Order and organize office supplies; Manage and maintain office systems and environment including policy and procedures manual and office operations manual.

6 Y4 p3 l5 m+ e  q6 Z, ^• Maintain organizational calendar of events, meeting coordination and up to date membership lists of committees and groups.

• Support effective internal communication by recording and distributing all meeting minutes.  W, g3 }" T$ ~. X: [2 E

• Manage all CFCA administrative communications such as liaising with financial institutions, service providers etc. related to administrative management.. I/ {0 l+ z. r% u: T, K: A9 W

• Perform financial administrative duties as required.

International Projects and Public Engagement/Communications:

• Maintain inventory of communication materials.. f  E4 G4 m, ^. m$ }( B+ b

• Process volunteer applications, track volunteer hours, and assist with volunteer scheduling.

/ N$ @: X$ w. S/ ^3 _8 [• Identify and maintain a current media list and database. File all media articles and press coverage of CFCA.

• Support management of online publicity and communication tools.  D; ^  ~# A5 Z& S! b$ C- J7 I

• Support the promotion of CFCA events in Alberta through online and print publicity resources.

0 _+ `! q  j8 I2 u• Support the management of requests for CFCA information and resources at public events.

• Manage database and support distribution of print publications.# ^0 e; C: o) Z: z. D

. F+ E0 i. B' L7 Z: c  p4 d$ u• Provide administrative support for public engagement events and mail outs.

) q* E7 a. ?2 \& s. p  H• Weekly out-of-office errands as required (get cheques signed by Board members, drop off grant applications, and pick up office supplies). These errands will require personal transport.: S  H& d" O) m

1 j% R1 X) k) ?+ t8 D• Provide logistical support for key fundraising events such as silent auctions

7 Q4 t2 S! W" h9 [• In conjunction with the Funds Development Program Manager, maintain donor database and ensure delivery of timely charitable receipts.

• Coordinate volunteers for some fundraising events such as Casino and annual sales events.% v1 Z5 ^: x/ L' c

• Support logistical work required for CFCA’s Annual General Meeting

' R. s( o4 L8 u8 QSkills and Qualifications: Education or work experience in office administration and experience with non-profit organizations an asset. Excellent communication and administrative skills; excellent oral and written communication skills; strong administrative and computer skills including proficiency in Word, Excel and Outlook or Outlook Express; Willingness to train on other relevant software; Very strong teamwork and time-management skills; commitment to social justice and sustainable community development.# ]4 q6 H* g2 f5 Z1 S

Spanish language abilities are an asset.

This position is Permanent part time (20 hours per week during regular office hours).

Starting salary is $18/ hour with benefits to be negotiated upon hire. Position will commence on November 01, 2009.
