Duties: Special Events % v9 ]2 l7 P8 E. {" _. \
Plan, implement and evaluate Special Events:
1 n E2 J+ p- E· Select and develop themes in collaboration with the Committee 5 V( |# C0 T2 {. M" z, u
· Oversee event logistics: book entertainment, catering services and venue; assist 9 l# p& c! d$ g
with decorating; ensure tickets and invitations are available; assist with the ! X4 R0 B/ A; M) N. B" e; o: G
advertising of events; recruit, place and supervise volunteers for events; ensure % x- x% u3 ~5 e6 b. l* o# m
set-up and clean-up; monitor event budget and complete evaluation of events.

Assist in developing and implementing a volunteer program: % U9 x2 n: g+ Z0 E
· Develop job descriptions for volunteer positions
3 |' U, f) W, t) K& f6 i! T( \ U· Recruit, interview, screen and place prospective volunteers " F0 l i; @% a7 D: x. D
· Provide initial orientation and training for new volunteers
4 D. A) I. l& ~" f) z* L- G· Ensure provision of recognition and evaluation of volunteers

Qualifications:
8 R6 |) R; P+ r$ i' a6 u; X1 z· Completion of 12th
2 `* ~ a/ K8 i" _) V Grade and a minimum of a Diploma in Recreation % F& L# H% y/ h2 G
Administration, Volunteer Management or Special Event Planning or equivalent.
+ B! U! {- s q$ H; C9 {$ e· At least one year of experience in Recreation Administration and some direct
3 Q0 s/ S( v. L8 x- ]. y/ Aexperience in conducting recreational, cultural or other related events
& b& c. j; F ~/ R, y" J· Experience working with and managing volunteers 4 D; m' }0 a. z4 f
· Specialized skills and training in working with seniors
' p& m, I9 ~- A! h· Ability to instruct, organize and supervise group activities and special events 2 S c$ ~! [/ [
· Current Standard First Aid, CPR & AED training / P. e+ W9 X l2 _; ?. w
· Security Clearance 9 ~. {! @. n2 C

Hours: Flexible – some evening and weekend work

Wages: $16 - $20/hour depending on qualifications
