Events and Volunteer Committees, this position will be responsible to: : F4 w# c4 e5 I$ _( ], c

Plan, implement and evaluate Special Events: 4 @- N1 W: K7 h0 m
· Select and develop themes in collaboration with the Committee
4 H6 ?; l3 s$ S$ i7 ]( k· Oversee event logistics: book entertainment, catering services and venue; assist
' V8 U6 l- @ B' Twith decorating; ensure tickets and invitations are available; assist with the 9 w2 c* v o) X8 B! w. K2 g
advertising of events; recruit, place and supervise volunteers for events; ensure ! D1 V% z5 O$ f, ~8 d1 b9 F
set-up and clean-up; monitor event budget and complete evaluation of events.

Assist in developing and implementing a volunteer program: / Z3 _+ q2 E3 p/ J2 C" y9 ^4 N% i
· Develop job descriptions for volunteer positions
3 l0 _/ n' l) f· Recruit, interview, screen and place prospective volunteers
$ J' p0 s/ h/ A) W. O· Provide initial orientation and training for new volunteers
8 p3 G+ z4 F/ ]0 s· Ensure provision of recognition and evaluation of volunteers ! B8 Y9 n' S% Q7 M
· Complete program administration, statistics and records $ A; \. B4 `- i, }# n+ Y n* T5 t

· Completion of 12th* i, z$ S6 ^( n' j
Grade and a minimum of a Diploma in Recreation : K/ f* w3 W: ^0 j- o% C9 b, l
Administration, Volunteer Management or Special Event Planning or equivalent. , B+ }9 T# Q: M+ |
· At least one year of experience in Recreation Administration and some direct 8 c3 Z. n, `' D/ d
experience in conducting recreational, cultural or other related events 9 s2 l# Q) E1 i1 a& J
· Experience working with and managing volunteers / n: P. ^4 |, P$ u
· Specialized skills and training in working with seniors

· Current Standard First Aid, CPR & AED training ( J; t, c0 N9 F! b( c) T, o2 _

Hours: Flexible – some evening and weekend work : s0 Q& S4 e% @0 s5 x
