Events and Volunteer Committees, this position will be responsible to: , v/ P/ L4 a% i& t5 H. V) o

Plan, implement and evaluate Special Events:
u) C) y+ l6 f- J$ m- n% `· Select and develop themes in collaboration with the Committee 9 z' ]1 e" A' }& L8 Y; I
· Oversee event logistics: book entertainment, catering services and venue; assist
- F7 @. ~2 y4 G" k0 P0 Twith decorating; ensure tickets and invitations are available; assist with the 1 d: ^) m9 d5 }4 H7 w% u
advertising of events; recruit, place and supervise volunteers for events; ensure $ ` y1 w1 U' m4 T' _7 Q0 s
set-up and clean-up; monitor event budget and complete evaluation of events. C( l# y; @3 A: E$ e5 C
· Attend and manage Special Events
/ O0 Y, v9 w" {; H, m: X# L; u2 P· Attend and take minutes for Special Events Committee ; w& P {+ v' ~4 ^9 U2 n

Assist in developing and implementing a volunteer program:
/ ~" {, Y8 A& c" a( K) N· Develop job descriptions for volunteer positions & v* m& N/ W! U$ A! u1 ^4 W& \
· Recruit, interview, screen and place prospective volunteers
8 U$ t/ F( o) ~· Provide initial orientation and training for new volunteers 1 ^5 m; ?2 A6 V1 ~$ X2 V% K
· Ensure provision of recognition and evaluation of volunteers
: k) F2 U: @6 T m, N0 I· Complete program administration, statistics and records
; ~2 t# X1 n+ X+ Y( K $ G0 f% H( `1 F+ ^& c, @5 w U
Qualifications: 0 ]3 }3 A( D: P* u; ^6 ~1 u( C# p* o+ Q4 x
· Completion of 12th0 o3 U2 p$ X# e. } X7 n4 [
Grade and a minimum of a Diploma in Recreation ( E2 n+ z8 |' I
Administration, Volunteer Management or Special Event Planning or equivalent.
$ u) O' d. F( z· At least one year of experience in Recreation Administration and some direct
! ~0 a" o! y6 P0 U% [( X) }7 Gexperience in conducting recreational, cultural or other related events
, |8 {7 S3 X+ ]0 ~; `( E% h, G# |· Experience working with and managing volunteers
: m& B4 G# h* x' B· Specialized skills and training in working with seniors E' F4 @5 p2 B: U5 P
· Ability to instruct, organize and supervise group activities and special events 4 y' P5 N* e7 G+ ], O4 a4 G
· Current Standard First Aid, CPR & AED training

Hours: Flexible – some evening and weekend work
