Under the direction of the Program Coordinator and in collaboration with CLSA Special $ A3 M# V" ~( d' B8 q( z% J1 S
Events and Volunteer Committees, this position will be responsible to:

/ z, I0 z: l1 o2 u# a# s0 ?Plan, implement and evaluate Special Events: 0 l4 X' h" e$ M7 N% M
· Select and develop themes in collaboration with the Committee ! S8 e- g ]0 U/ N4 h
· Oversee event logistics: book entertainment, catering services and venue; assist 4 T& w ]0 V4 ]) t
with decorating; ensure tickets and invitations are available; assist with the 5 C) f ~+ A0 @
advertising of events; recruit, place and supervise volunteers for events; ensure * ~, ]( r* P5 K0 B
set-up and clean-up; monitor event budget and complete evaluation of events.
& \& c0 }) z0 K# K7 _· Attend and manage Special Events : k, ~) v# ~ n2 r6 b3 b2 [
· Attend and take minutes for Special Events Committee # n( j; U+ y% e* W) b- k
8 ]4 Z8 a9 }1 y- h7 ~Duties: Volunteer Coordination
1 d6 Q B# D5 w: jAssist in developing and implementing a volunteer program:
- Q2 |& p% l: V6 S# W2 [· Develop job descriptions for volunteer positions - r/ b k. j( s7 R8 M' Q
· Recruit, interview, screen and place prospective volunteers
9 d/ W0 T) O+ L· Provide initial orientation and training for new volunteers # U5 [, f, s0 w1 z8 Z9 w2 i
· Ensure provision of recognition and evaluation of volunteers + v+ N: K: K. [+ T3 y
· Complete program administration, statistics and records

t+ L5 B4 K! F7 ~. [$ @4 Z3 C/ W/ z LQualifications: % |& w9 R! b) J( |6 m' v; A
· Completion of 12th6 {5 p! ~! M& S5 D1 s/ n2 z5 U
Grade and a minimum of a Diploma in Recreation
7 ]$ g% h- H& U! @Administration, Volunteer Management or Special Event Planning or equivalent.
& Q; J7 m, P9 ?! z· At least one year of experience in Recreation Administration and some direct ( i7 H& t8 ]0 y8 H! i
experience in conducting recreational, cultural or other related events 6 R T$ s. m, L9 m6 m" `& u
· Experience working with and managing volunteers - a! g q$ c, ]8 d( i7 q
· Specialized skills and training in working with seniors 0 F n. D! w, T1 M0 H
· Ability to instruct, organize and supervise group activities and special events
; S! \! s- L8 ^; d X· Current Standard First Aid, CPR & AED training 7 }. |' U2 i" s F8 O$ k- g2 c- T8 M
· Security Clearance

Hours: Flexible – some evening and weekend work

Wages: $16 - $20/hour depending on qualifications + i9 `! M) ?7 a7 P% v8 |9 l6 K, e
