Under the direction of the Program Coordinator and in collaboration with CLSA Special 2 X& v: `6 y8 H; j4 R
Events and Volunteer Committees, this position will be responsible to:

; Z' i* U5 Z9 x! X( I3 qPlan, implement and evaluate Special Events:
/ x; f* {8 b, W: d) H* N· Select and develop themes in collaboration with the Committee
9 ?: f! [) z4 M j· Oversee event logistics: book entertainment, catering services and venue; assist 4 Y1 g- O/ |$ Y/ y B
with decorating; ensure tickets and invitations are available; assist with the
7 l6 M/ f4 e# `8 Y7 S5 Oadvertising of events; recruit, place and supervise volunteers for events; ensure / r( T% L& d" N5 O
set-up and clean-up; monitor event budget and complete evaluation of events.

· Attend and take minutes for Special Events Committee ; b: k9 M3 h- ?0 R N

Assist in developing and implementing a volunteer program: 3 P4 Q: [( Z; |9 \" K! [
· Develop job descriptions for volunteer positions
V) t7 E& c) r- k) a· Recruit, interview, screen and place prospective volunteers
$ D* c2 X6 p W \4 t5 C7 W· Provide initial orientation and training for new volunteers
8 d, }8 n8 G6 c1 T3 [* j6 i· Ensure provision of recognition and evaluation of volunteers 8 S6 h. j" P9 v- j: y
· Complete program administration, statistics and records

. c/ L- y* A* w· Completion of 12th
+ z$ N2 j) @; C0 j1 `& W Grade and a minimum of a Diploma in Recreation , Z3 J4 P, o% p; x2 b9 B5 X" |
Administration, Volunteer Management or Special Event Planning or equivalent.
7 f/ N5 G: D* ~9 W9 D· At least one year of experience in Recreation Administration and some direct / l1 r$ {! R5 h( D
experience in conducting recreational, cultural or other related events . N8 z @9 n' y7 {. Q& _
· Experience working with and managing volunteers
8 T' H3 d% B/ [/ S# ?% H· Specialized skills and training in working with seniors
6 C2 n2 i6 W( c: C5 X1 W· Ability to instruct, organize and supervise group activities and special events P. v3 Q5 l( L9 [; m9 K ~! H
· Current Standard First Aid, CPR & AED training ( B, ^" ~& W0 s* [$ ], [! }
· Security Clearance / _/ ^+ C. t1 Q$ M4 H( K

Wages: $16 - $20/hour depending on qualifications
