9 y& I4 O3 s9 O- E, y: t * Provides technical support and husbandry of the Thermal Ionization Mass Spectrometer (TIMS) Laboratory
2 V. ^( P$ G6 c% `0 d; I" Q * Performs isotopic analyses on a broad spectrum of chemical elements, including Pb, Os, Nd, Sr [" e4 H) H s" F* e/ W Q
* Completes routine maintenance on the TIMS and auxiliary equipment, such as vacuum pumps- u0 R, C& s+ r' A; q5 w- {5 a3 u: X
* Performs data compilation, analysis and data reduction calculations$ r4 T2 O7 M* U0 a
* Trains users on the mass spectrometer and reduction calculations; i& ?& M; \+ W1 a! h

Qualifications; J6 |8 I. ^$ ]" V
8 f# \% e1 I0 B k2 K# k: U * Technical diploma in Physical Sciences, preferably Geological Sciences or equivalent; BSc in Geology or Chemistry is preferred- }3 @6 f4 ^. f7 @5 t
* Specialized training on thermal ionization mass spectrometers, geochemical analyses, and instrumentation9 N' c z9 f- G
* Experience in an established research laboratory with demonstrated knowledge of lab safety regulations and procedures including general lab hygiene and specific safety protocols for thermal ionization mass spectrometers
8 @2 E6 W# A+ k$ c2 g. K0 J * WHMIS training! [ S8 j% ~% w
* Computer competency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and programming experience would be an asset
