请教:如何选购奶酪和牛油

超市里有许多品牌的奶酪和牛油,请问如何选购?怎样吃比较好?

说说英文名吧,奶酪是不是cheese?如果是的话,有几种吃法一是cheese片,做三明治时,夹在面包里吃,有一种是细条状的,可作比萨,还有一种是粉状的可把它加些开水煮成糊状然后浇在烤好的土豆上,也可把cheese粉散在煮熟的意大利通心粉上吃。还有一种小孩喜欢吃的(不到)20公分长的cheese棒,一包里有很多根,就当零食吃。如果你买回的是立方体或长方体的话,就自己动手切成需要的形状,好象有专门的工具卖,其实中国人聪明,就用菜刀也能解决问题。至于黄色与白色的区别我不太清楚。请其他同学补充。

" `. J0 Z; r2 g# d你说牛油是哪一种呀,在国内用于起火锅底料。这里是不是butter?如果是的话,分两种,一种叫butter(块状),一种叫margarine(塑料碗装的)就是人造黄油。在洋人的食谱里常用到,至于中国用法,据说butter可以用来作馒头,成为奶油馒头,margarine嘛,烤面包时用,可用面包机烤好切片面包后,再直接涂上,也可涂上后,用烤箱烤几钟。后者好象更好吃些,小心发胖!!9 l" F" v' p! f/ N) n1 ^9 C  O

至于选什么牌子,我的经验是凭主妇的直觉。

4 f+ H# [3 B% j9 vCheddar or American cheese (yellow or white): for code sandwich, cubed small chunk of snack, burger or cheesy casserole (baking), the color doesn’t decide the flavor. The cover of the cheese should say: sharp; mild, which refer to the degree of the flavor.- s* H: U2 |+ l/ E
! R  L' m: \( G$ c1 b6 _
Mozzarella cheese (white, no yellow color): for pizza or Italian cooking9 n: S+ g  U, C/ ]- F

/ \2 Z) a7 [0 e% k8 \+ d6 Q9 O, J; \(Those are the cheese I can handle but many others I tried but no way to enjoy,  like the following: )* d9 p) Z6 ~1 y0 a" I6 @# I; p. u

Swiss cheese (white, with holes): mostly for hot sandwich

Parmesan cheese (almost like powder): on top of dishes, mostly pasta.

Butter is a lot simpler:
( w/ ^# B1 m$ G* N+ [: [$ m1 Q! W
Butter stick (regular or light): 1. for cooking (just like the oil we use) or baking (e.g. bread, cake, or casserole), 2. you can also use it for bread spread) a5 k5 I8 w  Q
Margarine( soft butter): mainly or spread, on bread, corn… * w3 c% t; T* Q- c* G% |* t

; w3 I' ^( `  m" g' ^$ JCream cheese: also for spread, mostly on bagels; sometimes used for some bakery too
