Program Overview:

7 k8 O: C5 E1 r8 @Integrated Employability Skills Training gives immigrants the essential
7 @; P. O/ L+ A5 kskills needed for success in the Alberta workplace. This 5-month funded
program combines classroom-based training with work site visits and work
experience placements in high-demand semi-skilled occupations, such as
" |/ p4 L* m; j6 }8 {5 O/ dwarehousing, customer service, hospitality, healthcare support, food
$ l) |' l* @0 [services and others.

! v# y* Z" `$ U5 i8 d9 Y( J6 {Candidate Profile:
; ^& {* x" S- ~
4 q4 m! d, t# H1 h7 \) ^$ J# aCandidates for this funded program must be landed immigrants, Canadian
citizens or refugees who are eligible to work in Canada and who have:
*        English communication skills in the 4 - 6 range on CLB
*        Basic literacy and numeracy skills and some secondary or post-
secondary education
*        A genuine interest in finding permanent employment in a high-demand

7 w7 ^0 N0 V! f*        Availability to study fulltime for 5 months and then be employed
3 B6 c2 }3 Y. w+ a4 |/ |9 T*        Willingness to commit to a program and future job
: o7 L: J( X* H# ^*        Resided in Alberta for the past 3 months

Program Description:
( E; j* U% q" r2 B. o8 u
                        *        4 months classroom-based instruction and
- Q7 o; g3 d& ]" ]' x4 l1 }  {field trips
        *        Improve your English while learning about a variety of
high-demand occupations
        *        Increase computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint,
! o& B* {4 a1 q, f& @5 T8 OInternet, etc.)
& O( W. R- ]) P( U" Y# S        *        Write a winning resume and improve interview skills
        *        Get First Aid/CPR and WHMIS certificates
        *        Take advantage of one-on-one employment counseling
                        *        1 month work-experience placement

Class Schedule and Location:

        *        September 12, 2005 to January 31, 2006

        *        All classes are held at The Path to Employment, 10211 - 97

Funding:

Students may be eligible for tuition and living expenses from Student
Finance.
