' C5 d5 `9 D8 J6 `3 tIntegrated Employability Skills Training gives immigrants the essential
  m! }. z5 }( q' K* o5 k# Mskills needed for success in the Alberta workplace. This 5-month funded
: r' L# ]  g/ C( f3 vprogram combines classroom-based training with work site visits and work
experience placements in high-demand semi-skilled occupations, such as
5 r+ [% G0 m: u* j0 Q% W  Mwarehousing, customer service, hospitality, healthcare support, food
services and others.

Candidate Profile:

Candidates for this funded program must be landed immigrants, Canadian
9 T2 Q4 o! T) t% q# lcitizens or refugees who are eligible to work in Canada and who have:
' d. `; j' O9 F*        English communication skills in the 4 - 6 range on CLB
2 V3 D! |4 G; R) y*        Basic literacy and numeracy skills and some secondary or post-
secondary education
*        A genuine interest in finding permanent employment in a high-demand
  k, {6 d& D8 noccupation
*        Availability to study fulltime for 5 months and then be employed
. K7 z* P' ]8 E0 C*        Willingness to commit to a program and future job
2 E- F$ z5 X! {/ s0 u3 x" Y) M*        Resided in Alberta for the past 3 months

                        *        4 months classroom-based instruction and
0 Z* T" T$ ]1 g4 lfield trips
' B9 |5 \. _. ^% K  {        *        Improve your English while learning about a variety of
- T0 `0 `" t# e( z/ Ehigh-demand occupations
9 O8 O4 j- J1 @8 f. `7 E$ R8 z( K        *        Increase computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint,
4 o: z, g9 z/ uInternet, etc.)
8 @# |# i3 v4 z1 p0 @$ p, C) y        *        Write a winning resume and improve interview skills
        *        Get First Aid/CPR and WHMIS certificates
- H: Y$ b+ A1 C        *        Take advantage of one-on-one employment counseling
                        *        1 month work-experience placement

        *        September 12, 2005 to January 31, 2006
        *        Monday to Friday
        *        9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. (tentative)
