Program Overview:

Integrated Employability Skills Training gives immigrants the essential
skills needed for success in the Alberta workplace. This 5-month funded
0 E/ N  P0 B. u5 R2 H9 Pprogram combines classroom-based training with work site visits and work
$ W9 G2 Z* I9 D7 l/ |9 aexperience placements in high-demand semi-skilled occupations, such as
warehousing, customer service, hospitality, healthcare support, food
services and others.

6 J  N+ _9 d/ c& K! [9 ]+ gCandidate Profile:

Candidates for this funded program must be landed immigrants, Canadian
citizens or refugees who are eligible to work in Canada and who have:
7 n( Y9 |- Y! |! o1 z3 t*        English communication skills in the 4 - 6 range on CLB
( ^3 S7 d/ C5 I' B7 i$ e*        Basic literacy and numeracy skills and some secondary or post-
0 i: o, _7 i# ~' f, f5 M; Ksecondary education
*        A genuine interest in finding permanent employment in a high-demand
occupation
( r: y8 p  r" g7 J2 r( \*        Availability to study fulltime for 5 months and then be employed
2 L& T: ?" S3 _*        Willingness to commit to a program and future job
9 d0 D; Y9 k; t( ^*        Resided in Alberta for the past 3 months

field trips

! b: S  ~( f( @8 b. K& T        *        Increase computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint,
Internet, etc.)
        *        Write a winning resume and improve interview skills
; j+ `) r. ^1 U1 u; \4 b9 Q0 H        *        Get First Aid/CPR and WHMIS certificates
* \+ S" f5 [  ~! L: E        *        Take advantage of one-on-one employment counseling
                        *        1 month work-experience placement
