Big Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton and Area provides mentoring programs to more than 2,800 children, youth and families. We are looking for 4 temporary full time summer staff.

4 Multicultural Summer Camp Program Staff

4 g+ M; T. f2 V6 N, ^Key Responsibilities Include:
3 R3 d6 N% o# W: J) [Activity Planning and Daily Activity
2 Q4 g2 D3 r: [8 V* i. @$ m/ `$ i• Assist in planning, organizing and relevant activities for children and youth to explore new avenues including leadership & life skills, recreation, and their cultural community that enhance their resilience, relationship building and leadership.
! y3 j; l i+ w' X+ @• Participate in the delivery of all programs in the areas of crafts, sports and tutoring.
6 U" M0 U$ O0 E+ h, ?1 ?• Participate in and lead sporting activities; know and have the ability to apply game rules for basketball, soccer and volleyball,
5 v/ ~: {! N- g# N- Z% P• Provide proper supervision in all activities to ensure the safety of the program participants.* n! x1 A4 V3 s- }- B4 U& W& C
• Supervise the children and youth at breakfast and lunch time.
6 n4 m+ A5 R& _% d• Help to maintain housekeeping standards by ensuring all program facilities are left clean after each activity and each meal.$ U9 X2 M3 k: F! N0 w1 D7 D
+ k# e- a0 e- w% m" T
The successful candidate will have:/ d6 W; n! ~+ x2 H. x
• The enthusiasm and ability to work with a variety of ages of youth in a group setting! F& C7 M* K; g) I* x8 m& S
• Experience with children
4 r7 B: k' D3 S( J5 G) O• Demonstrated knowledge of sporting, activity planning for youth 2 ^- D4 x+ l' R/ W/ ^6 J. E
• Knowledge the English language and the ability to support math tutoring.
5 v4 {7 e- k( p• Ability to manage time effectively and be results oriented.5 Y6 C1 E5 B: p& L# p1 k* w
• Knowledge of children’s activities and community resources5 h( o4 t$ y3 P' f
• Documentation of a clear CYIM (Child & Youth Information Management) check
+ T* s3 F2 T5 _" h/ O* G• Documentation of a clear vulnerable sector Security Clearance check 6 h3 _$ t1 ?4 R( v+ i' @9 `
