Big Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton and Area provides mentoring programs to more than 2,800 children, youth and families. We are looking for 4 temporary full time summer staff.

(8 week contract @ 35 hours a week)' O, h0 j: S6 G- z+ V# h: z

Key Responsibilities Include:
! Q% Q- T+ z2 v3 v F" a8 ]7 eActivity Planning and Daily Activity5 [. W3 H! b- A( o; \
• Assist in planning, organizing and relevant activities for children and youth to explore new avenues including leadership & life skills, recreation, and their cultural community that enhance their resilience, relationship building and leadership.) Q- `9 P; A z7 K6 Y7 a
• Participate in the delivery of all programs in the areas of crafts, sports and tutoring.
1 R# s8 l; R6 E/ l' s: s3 x• Participate in and lead sporting activities; know and have the ability to apply game rules for basketball, soccer and volleyball,
9 @7 _- K) V; T4 b• Provide proper supervision in all activities to ensure the safety of the program participants.( @( N' {2 V: n, X, U) X3 A
• Supervise the children and youth at breakfast and lunch time.
3 y4 b% `+ `: Z( c# g. B• Help to maintain housekeeping standards by ensuring all program facilities are left clean after each activity and each meal.

The successful candidate will have:
5 _( h6 r1 S2 [2 X0 ^: H' `• The enthusiasm and ability to work with a variety of ages of youth in a group setting
" {3 }) n8 ]9 E0 B' [• Experience with children
/ W( l; z$ Q& X$ o: Y3 h• Demonstrated knowledge of sporting, activity planning for youth
. I, Y$ H% J+ `3 g+ C• Knowledge the English language and the ability to support math tutoring.
( g5 A' e% ?& u/ g3 V2 U0 c1 _/ F• Ability to manage time effectively and be results oriented.

) {6 i3 _# V9 A. m z/ L, s• Documentation of a clear CYIM (Child & Youth Information Management) check
