Big Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton and Area provides mentoring programs to more than 2,800 children, youth and families. We are looking for 4 temporary full time summer staff.

Key Responsibilities Include:1 l2 Y( z/ b9 f6 q5 V* q
Activity Planning and Daily Activity4 ~. U9 B& @ W, b
• Assist in planning, organizing and relevant activities for children and youth to explore new avenues including leadership & life skills, recreation, and their cultural community that enhance their resilience, relationship building and leadership.
, h, P R+ X# \4 n' @• Participate in the delivery of all programs in the areas of crafts, sports and tutoring.
3 [8 c/ A6 q! Q, _" z+ a• Participate in and lead sporting activities; know and have the ability to apply game rules for basketball, soccer and volleyball,
# S; S- L* K2 X8 j7 {$ a• Provide proper supervision in all activities to ensure the safety of the program participants.1 R1 q5 c1 b0 ]4 c! H7 e% |6 g
• Supervise the children and youth at breakfast and lunch time.6 e% u g6 J/ u5 p+ |$ O) n7 L
• Help to maintain housekeeping standards by ensuring all program facilities are left clean after each activity and each meal.

• The enthusiasm and ability to work with a variety of ages of youth in a group setting5 A" z- O3 B6 i% c1 O
• Experience with children
! H, _6 ^: ]6 X/ B• Demonstrated knowledge of sporting, activity planning for youth
. B3 L' D3 E2 _% j( R- q• Knowledge the English language and the ability to support math tutoring.3 j# v6 u& a" l0 E/ Y
• Ability to manage time effectively and be results oriented.8 [) D$ `3 `0 |
• Knowledge of children’s activities and community resources: @' u7 n1 s7 B5 M9 _0 a( ]
• Documentation of a clear CYIM (Child & Youth Information Management) check
