) E( N. ^' g4 C% d4 g# UBig Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton and Area provides mentoring programs to more than 2,800 children, youth and families. Together with the Africa Centre, we are looking for 2 temporary full time summer student staff.

$ I# M# k# B4 J1 K. ]# A# `Activity Planning and Daily Activity( V4 r i& |3 @
• Assist in planning, organizing and relevant activities for children and youth to explore new avenues including leadership & life skills, recreation, and their cultural community that enhance their resilience, relationship building and leadership.2 @5 u# l$ t8 @0 d6 I1 e! X
• Participate in the delivery of all programs in the areas of crafts, sports and tutoring. 7 c) a I; @0 E
• Participate in and lead sporting activities; know and have the ability to apply game rules for basketball, soccer and volleyball, - c/ m. f* E+ D/ G6 D/ w
• Provide proper supervision in all activities to ensure the safety of the program participants.9 A" c V# O) K2 Q; M6 I
• Supervise the children and youth at breakfast and lunch time. |) o% F f- e. ?5 E$ S
• Help to maintain housekeeping standards by ensuring all program facilities are left clean after each activity and each meal.

The successful candidate will have:# R. }' f R) E$ r# ^
• The enthusiasm and ability to work with a variety of ages of youth in a group setting
' o- D6 l$ W/ e( C• Experience with children' c) X" S' J1 U8 s! I l6 d' f
• Demonstrated knowledge of sporting, activity planning for youth 5 ~+ W5 t* X' M3 j
• Knowledge the English language and the ability to support math tutoring.- o3 i h4 W6 V5 @. v5 o- Y
• Ability to manage time effectively and be results oriented.
% @; b4 V0 w7 o• Knowledge of children’s activities and community resources2 q( p$ w2 b8 l
• A clear CYIM (Child & Youth Information Management) check + U. ~+ Q- W z% Q4 e: v- m
• A clear vulnerable sector Security Clearance check 0 J0 O# V2 b* r0 U
