FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the ! z+ d% Q4 z) [8 r, T
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
) `* q# J0 i6 zsupport the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern - ?" X- W* Z$ `6 R& J
Alberta.

and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a

screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
7 C& c5 G, b9 j, t( V. z" z( bFAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
, Y" ]& r2 J8 w* b5 lwell as the script, magazine and book library. ( T. K% }% f) f+ @# [ X% k

: U$ q% ^7 B! h: R7 A$ \, \- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library 7 q: F5 L, a+ c. I0 ]* ~
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books ) j8 Z% b; A c8 d
- Implement a catalogue template for future use
* [/ Y! P' T, [. Q- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
/ W4 l* H+ Q" G3 C2 L- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Funding for this position is provided by the Summer Temporary Employment Program

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-5 a# Q A7 m2 |! O: \; Y2 s$ G
secondary training, university preferred

- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
: o# V+ M4 |; q! f9 ?- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
1 d% H) ~6 k+ D& d, \# M S( u- Strong organizational skills 8 C. W T+ i) j8 q9 I n( |6 J* G4 K
- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
' q9 d! R0 I! g5 h7 I0 D- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal ) U+ `9 }% N9 _- ]3 E- u [; s1 a
- Strong team player abilities
