, h9 p2 u4 Z, x9 x9 [) TFAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
Alberta.

* }+ f* O; t. y9 b; C# ?6 ~8 u6 sFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
5 E0 @% g$ Q9 zemerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
" f/ y8 q; Z3 o- A3 z" Oresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
" X8 G7 c# x. @( ^screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern
' M9 }% `% H8 k8 {/ o+ K; u% O9 UAlberta.

% r5 Q$ \( e  }4 `; e/ s1 xJob Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
1 n! @" Z& a# O' D9 ?FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
. s0 q! [, \2 k$ |* {well as the script, magazine and book library.

& l7 V+ p! `" ^( f  \- i; zDuties:
* k3 x% R- ]2 W3 u$ b0 t- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
2 m4 g) Z* B; X2 A- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
- Implement a catalogue template for future use
, W+ }1 \1 I8 B  `' q0 s; }! b, n- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

; I5 ]' j, L+ J6 E1 n- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-
secondary training, university preferred
8 D3 ]: b8 V# C# I' [4 H- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
- Strong organizational skills
, @5 s9 \) W- o" r" I# I' a- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal  
- Strong team player abilities
