FAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization

emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
$ \) \: l& H/ W$ v* n1 ?and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
4 l6 P. E$ U. y& ^3 kresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and : O8 i; A/ k! A1 F/ X% a- Y
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern 9 w. `( Z4 x/ @4 `
Alberta.

Job Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive
4 ^' ]1 K. ^1 r0 eDirector and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by 3 @6 n5 [: I* a4 z. J0 I2 P) A4 W
assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department. 0 k z% X5 Y3 @# v% z
. Z- L/ Q' `4 |, p
Duties:
: o5 d' J1 z, P- G, c/ ^: F- Assist with research on acquisition grants
) l' {/ r# H5 f- O4 [$ x: j- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities + M$ [+ N1 `4 X8 J
- Assist with equipment maintenance & Y. A) T$ \$ a# N0 p8 N' h' ~( d! f
- Assist with production logistics for programming events
3 z8 [6 u1 B$ c) l0 C. e- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff
[$ K' t1 e) x5 q4 y- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-

- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week 7 J2 F: Z7 Q# h4 S: i

- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts 0 O) c3 }$ x( ]
- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment 2 `( p+ T) S0 o4 i, ^, d- r' S9 `
- Advance organizational and research skills - i0 L1 [% n, R$ p0 h
- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD . d# n1 j: ~$ g7 u; y
- Strong team player abilities
