FAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization 4 l% C* i' r/ d* E
whose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media , ^6 K. ^# I9 J) B+ B2 g3 Y
artists from Northern Alberta. 9 |& U% k* s/ Q/ J5 X5 t

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from 1 q& v- }+ d: E* `+ l5 M( _7 O W( ]
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
2 D2 o4 l+ g" B$ k* Kand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
. _4 v: Y9 [5 d! \) F' ]6 wresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and 6 D$ D1 @& [+ D! b: s
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

& ^5 A. u& }( l4 w% r& A: UJob Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive 4 s% j# `8 U& B7 |( z! X
Director and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by 5 I# n/ f0 B4 D8 C3 Q
assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department.

Duties: " g/ X# B$ H& R# Q0 t2 E$ ~6 e
- Assist with research on acquisition grants
1 q6 n y" h. q+ S: E- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities
9 n- p& g5 g4 [: o# \. U3 @- Assist with equipment maintenance
2 v9 i7 L4 q0 ^# E3 t& H! l( z- Assist with production logistics for programming events
4 v$ g; `8 U/ X- U! ~/ A( i- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff 5 z% C( k/ {) Y O" a
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable
- m: z- O) p8 y4 I- Provide vacation relief 3 `# @8 @1 n+ a( @* e2 J

- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD ; K' @5 w; ^1 o5 O& i
- Strong team player abilities
