Position title: Community Development Worker

- community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to 9 m7 i4 V- u& j+ ~
provide services for Chinese community( h% |( g8 s( E% w! r, J0 p
- workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population ' G s! P1 @& m* D
access to mainstream services7 D- _) h/ \7 X! k" t
- fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of / b5 n; G( J' w( k0 l [/ ^$ Q7 p+ g
social services
, z8 ^* h: c6 B2 K, f- develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies
! C3 W$ T) ~$ B/ R1 J" R- coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members

- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre; _5 ~: @. n) @7 F5 G
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services+ W) |% U1 s& A" X
- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time/ \0 w0 [" e0 ]* l+ s4 _3 G
- update membership database+ j$ m. i7 G+ L$ U& C, j7 s; g# a
- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)! ]; N$ f9 V; _2 I6 _4 }. q' \) V, W8 c
& O3 b. L% X5 U8 oQualifications6 d5 j& P+ Z9 ]3 |" b4 w
- degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of
) F/ \ c7 P! \% Q experience and education ! g [6 Y4 ^# C+ u8 P5 t. u
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills4 s- x& _( M @: a7 k
- experience in community work and immigrant services4 p' c- a$ [0 x% s2 \2 L
- experience in website update/design3 d* M5 \3 W8 y1 J
- Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset
