Job Description

, q' L# Q: M- q6 ]* t provide services for Chinese community% i- {4 C# q/ {% k% y) [; H: A. W
- workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population
4 y" E J) |9 `$ N9 E+ R access to mainstream services9 D; ^/ ^ L9 _$ w# [2 Y9 Q$ Y
- fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of * O; d8 k; {1 S1 K1 ]
social services
/ j8 d, O `/ a v- develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies0 L, ^3 S9 r, ?' ]8 z
- coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members( w; b& ?$ D% U, d' g2 \5 V' Q
- update ASSIST website
7 a$ c9 S, G/ K$ r, F, ]- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre
0 j- B% l( D2 U8 A o6 ~: \* U- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services+ W' Y* A8 s5 ?" p
- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time

- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)

Qualifications5 c* l, c0 O8 Z# w; f
- degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of
' a) n) T! Y" K0 y1 ] experience and education
0 W0 J; h3 G+ u: E8 P8 g- good oral and written Chinese and English skills
; }0 y( |; ^- }1 v S- experience in community work and immigrant services
$ r8 ?% X- l1 P7 r# L* C- experience in website update/design
}# C3 J! F" |" e$ V. D, P% r9 t- Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset
