Position title: Community Development Worker

Job Description
! V* n- X) \. n5 M- community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to
8 n ^) N) h) M z3 s) _ provide services for Chinese community
/ I7 P3 d. V, g0 J, o5 ~- workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population
8 l) E; K; f* q0 G access to mainstream services
" a' v' W- R2 T9 K+ c- fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of
( G3 j1 c; {, K# u5 { social services& f3 _, S3 _. A' ]' M/ `
- develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies
0 n% x/ C n- ]/ t5 n- coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members. a! { e8 c o' F6 q+ }
- update ASSIST website
* F8 ^' _( S* ]: m. k0 s- h! u$ R- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre3 R: f: Q( R9 h+ X) H- N) o+ v# s* z& [
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services
5 `. \* k# W/ f1 `' C+ t- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time

. w+ q6 \. N' S1 p4 f- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)

Qualifications3 m3 y* l. ?2 _ C% n' Z0 j. |
- degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of
2 {6 T* V+ r/ d9 ]- V experience and education
: R& Y) A7 E7 z0 O3 P& f- good oral and written Chinese and English skills! `: H1 A' S1 F
- experience in community work and immigrant services+ a& x M/ e0 ] h! Q7 V: j2 l7 t, z
- experience in website update/design
- O7 A- n, U, E5 N7 H$ ~- Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset
