Summer Job Opportunity for Children’s Summer Program Coordinator, 2009

- Organize, plan, and facilitate the Children’s Summer Program
* w2 B8 l) e9 ^! ?! g7 `/ H (ages 6 to 15)
1 f! L) Y. k! g- Recruit children for summer programs q( W8 O) x9 R- t' N W9 V. N
- Recruit volunteers for summer programs
) _, Z) D9 j/ _4 E- Record keeping& g) i8 g7 u% }; g
- Provide orientation for parents: a: q& ?" O( o2 T1 I" A% ^
- Prepare final end of summer report for funding agency- D6 X1 R: g' v& s- q2 S' @, Q
- Act according to the guidance or direction of the Senior Program Manager

Qualifications:
4 V1 Q" j9 F2 t. }3 t- Post secondary student in Education, Social Sciences, Human Sciences, Early Childhood Development, Physical Education or equivalent of experience and education% W9 R+ \5 `/ v# n3 q
- Should have direct experience planning and delivering recreation programs to children [7 I' K+ v5 I. [3 i, @
- Good coordinating, communicating and interpersonal skills
' e' A% ~) `" ]6 l& j# y5 J- Must enjoy sports and other athletic activities, \% E& `9 T U$ h$ `
- Fluency in English and Chinese or Cantonese% q3 D' u" y8 |* u5 T- b
- Demonstrate strong leadership abilities
: d/ }- b7 ]. ?# e- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision: H! K' V" p* e3 A8 F' e
- Returning student (should return to school after summer)/ e. G2 V3 ]3 J/ ]+ e7 I
- Successful applicants must undergo security and child welfare check at own expense: ^4 p( Y8 J# r3 j

- Hours of work: Monday to Friday from 9:00am to 5:00pm (35 hours/week) in May and June(planning)
( ]/ n! C }% {) U/ l; _9 ~) s/ G and 8:30am to 4:30pm (35 hours/week) in July and August(summer camps)
