; @ j& U/ z, o( b* S * Conducts isotopic analysis of geological samples using Thermal Ionization Mass Spectrometry, including performing isotopic analysis of standard samples and control solutions to verify machine performance specifications5 j- w2 G' a4 n: g, @* T# j
* Loads purified samples to filaments for analysis+ s: e d; S3 h- l) z5 n
* Performs data entry and ensures quality control and quality assurance+ [) }+ c1 {6 p& X. D, y
* Coordinates instrument analysis schedules for Research Associates, Post Doctoral Fellows and Graduate Students 5 ^5 H5 {4 U( P9 o% t4 t# w. D
* Provides general technical support and routine husbandry for the Mass Spectrometry Laboratory, including preparing filaments (welding and out gassing) for analysis for use by self and others; cleaning instrument components and conducting minor repairs/replacement of components; checking glassware and pipettes; orders consumables and supplies
+ K. _1 |% ?+ A * Delivers completed data to users; maintains instrument and safety logs

Qualifications
. Q' z* I; f1 Z# U) q: k; o5 `8 j/ i k; R
* Technical Diploma required; a BSc is preferred
9 H) S) L: R& Q3 z1 w * Minimum of one year of related experience in some aspect of analytical mass spectrometry is required
