A twelve-week training program for careers in Child Care.

knowledge to help them succeed in entry-level child care positions.$ A7 Q3 U$ ~: T
The program includes the following elements:% D1 y& M1 I+ N6 `
• Orientation Course for Child Care Staff (Level 1)
* x7 ]4 j. M1 d' U2 b0 V0 Z1 k• Standard Child Care First Aid5 B7 I9 I5 W5 c: W# \
• WHMIS
# g: w' q X& e( ^' d1 e( n# f• Practical and theoretical modules relevant to child care
7 P% d' q! i, J. y9 X• Components to improve communication skills
G0 `% F* |7 X• Modules on Work Place Culture and Work Search

Eligibility Criteria6 K, F. k# I! ?) K6 G
• be a landed immigrant, convention refugee or new citizen
, A& l7 j# f/ q4 A" \. `0 X+ gof Canada. S L$ S7 J p3 z! E7 q$ t
• have a Social Insurance Number
. m% _2 e2 N1 ~2 v• provide a completed criminal record check and child welfare check
! @% Q" R7 e+ V6 q9 H, O! Y$ c2 m2 S• CLBA score of at least 4 or completion of LINC 4 or equivalent
/ L4 |" r- u$ C* s0 M' ~• demonstrate commitment to participating in a 12 week full-time! g4 D* Y+ v' Q* a/ P0 y

Participants may be eligible for Grant Funding if they meet: m7 S4 T3 i" M u
the following requirements, in addition to the one listed above:$ I5 t- P% u( z8 a2 b9 ~
• be unemployed or underemployed.; i% {. g, `- T6 I- h
They CANNOT quit their job to take the course
