A twelve-week training program for careers in Child Care.
+ T/ G6 M# m6 z% K( ^This program is designed to provide participants with the skills and
: h/ Z: K" F, Q; k# [" Jknowledge to help them succeed in entry-level child care positions.* e0 C4 ^9 D* @4 }0 t
The program includes the following elements:
# V% v7 f9 h. H• Orientation Course for Child Care Staff (Level 1)$ k4 x& u# K$ E" _# k, n
• Standard Child Care First Aid& x9 [7 }4 M- @0 X1 q7 ?
• WHMIS
9 X2 g) D0 X& [% J3 Q5 v$ [* j$ Q( B• Practical and theoretical modules relevant to child care6 a( `! {9 }3 N2 l4 t
• Components to improve communication skills
! m) t) ?+ [6 j& G4 \• Modules on Work Place Culture and Work Search
" p( m: m( h6 \# Q. r4 E• Practicum Placements
9 O- D. q& i. ^1 Y4 A0 U; Z8 FEligibility Criteria
; E' X* K6 b _8 u$ n7 \! m• be a landed immigrant, convention refugee or new citizen5 W$ w6 U1 e0 e% z
of Canada
3 b/ P3 _0 q, `$ G0 a/ c• have a Social Insurance Number" v! U, I# A" v) p
• provide a completed criminal record check and child welfare check5 x3 Q# F" z! [5 \ v5 _+ }: ?, a9 w6 n
• CLBA score of at least 4 or completion of LINC 4 or equivalent
- a; B! [2 ]3 t9 L$ Q5 `( W• demonstrate commitment to participating in a 12 week full-time

Participants may be eligible for Grant Funding if they meet. M- i Q1 N0 u
the following requirements, in addition to the one listed above:
; e {8 W6 C e4 }- q• be unemployed or underemployed.
