A twelve-week training program for careers in Child Care.& {$ |0 ~, F3 V7 [: F) ^
This program is designed to provide participants with the skills and
. E% |4 _5 s" u! k! E" G: }6 Jknowledge to help them succeed in entry-level child care positions.1 S' E1 r, s, Q/ Q
The program includes the following elements:
/ S! V* q G* D• Orientation Course for Child Care Staff (Level 1)7 N6 q1 g1 S6 v, c
• Standard Child Care First Aid- T& m B% n' q% g, V: G6 {! N* }
• WHMIS
' ] x. k# l4 h, N• Practical and theoretical modules relevant to child care6 W1 S3 j8 }; C1 G2 t
• Components to improve communication skills
% {+ S! X- S. }, \0 s• Modules on Work Place Culture and Work Search

; Y! O5 C) c2 V% n7 P9 {- T• be a landed immigrant, convention refugee or new citizen# m& f. u1 `/ R
of Canada
, x. i4 o$ c/ q, M• have a Social Insurance Number" t. L2 b2 n& _5 M1 [4 z
• provide a completed criminal record check and child welfare check/ j: \" U1 ^2 Z" W$ q7 G2 [
• CLBA score of at least 4 or completion of LINC 4 or equivalent& B9 ^ n$ m+ E, Y* ]' n
• demonstrate commitment to participating in a 12 week full-time

" p0 M5 J- s, F; IParticipants may be eligible for Grant Funding if they meet
9 L: Y& |! C4 _4 c. wthe following requirements, in addition to the one listed above:
