A twelve-week training program for careers in Child Care.% m0 y1 ^! x) ?, s+ w& F" S v
This program is designed to provide participants with the skills and* d: q8 o" o) {
knowledge to help them succeed in entry-level child care positions.
& t; L! i9 w5 a E4 D& m3 W/ K; oThe program includes the following elements:
/ U2 I3 G: g' z• Orientation Course for Child Care Staff (Level 1)
" G. [. M5 k( _% @. T$ \$ d) Z• Standard Child Care First Aid: x: A+ F" |& J
• WHMIS
, }- x' t6 r! \0 D3 b+ _• Practical and theoretical modules relevant to child care
) H2 h4 p, l" x# t$ e• Components to improve communication skills
0 {4 n, D/ Q) H9 h6 m• Modules on Work Place Culture and Work Search

Eligibility Criteria
, [ t o; b- N3 t; [• be a landed immigrant, convention refugee or new citizen% I/ f+ J; {! z9 H+ p7 Z1 P& j: |
of Canada- H4 d8 }$ N3 N5 c. N; T
• have a Social Insurance Number
& ?4 C+ N) o# o5 `• provide a completed criminal record check and child welfare check: v: }# T) B4 U* n/ U2 O2 P) Z
• CLBA score of at least 4 or completion of LINC 4 or equivalent
" I! W/ [2 I2 w @; q! c• demonstrate commitment to participating in a 12 week full-time

Participants may be eligible for Grant Funding if they meet' r0 ^' h! e# {6 u/ ?
the following requirements, in addition to the one listed above:
1 p$ g, h; ^3 \. y5 l5 F• be unemployed or underemployed.1 y7 a/ ~7 i2 R* Y% d
They CANNOT quit their job to take the course. i; Q1 o. l! W; \. O/ N) }# ~: q1 q3 b
