原因是：

“self-inflicted” has the connotation of creating theunnecessarypain for one self." x1 F! y: W' k* ?1 V2 I/ x( T
! F& k; P/ A! A' t# ^( l4 f7 i7 U 折腾 in Hu"s speech has a strong connotation that such kindofsetback is self-seeking instead of being due to theinterferencefrom outside." C5 A0 C$ \% _1 q- h7 ?7 Z( g
) q6 U$ D$ Z) \: n; B! ] “Setback” is a much better word than “trouble”, whichanunseasoned translator would like to use in the firstinstance.“Setback” especially refers to the obstacle ordifficultyencountered in achieving a strategic goal. |
