M" A1 l: v- wPosition Abstract: as Manager of Volunteer Development, you are committed to seeing that the mission/vision are actively pursued within the Volunteer program as it facilitates a variety of opportunities for groups/individuals to participate in The Mustard Seed's ministry. $ \- V& M- R/ {" {% w9 g0 V6 M

The Manager of Volunteer Development reports to the Director of Development & is responsible for the development/oversight of all volunteer recruitment, training, placement & equipping of staff for volunteer supervision/mentorship. ! a+ B$ R8 A: x; a B" }
7 x. d. r9 t: Z* G; G- M7 ZThe ideal candidate will have: had personal encounters with people living in poverty/demonstrates an ability to understand issues of the inner city. S/he is passionate about volunteers participating in ministry to the poor and can communicate with a diverse range of partners. Knowledge of volunteer recruitment and management is necessary and understanding non-profit management is desirable. & b0 ?% Y& h" p

In Addition: the candidate has the ability to create and lead the development of the vision for The Mustard Seed within his or her sphere of responsibilities.

: y- L+ n4 ?, V6 _$ cYou will have strong communication skills/the ability to lead and build leaders and will possess a 'teachable spirit'. A capacity for creative problem solving, conflict resolution and equipping people are essential attributes. Basic computer skills required. The candidate must have the capacity to represent The Mustard Seed publicly. : |' C ^. l' O6 x2 T

Key Qualifications: a Bachelor degree in related field or equivalent; proven track record in volunteer management; experience training volunteers and/or staff; a member, in good standing, of a local community of faith; willing to submit to and ability to pass an Enhanced Security clearance by Correctional Services Canada and an Employment Security Check.# x1 ]# N( B+ t. n6 ^" f. t
