Duties

5 E. C. D$ _& C/ x* l * Develops,coordinates, and facilitates the Institute for Sexual Minority Studies and Services (iSMSS), Camp fYrefly sexual minority youth outreach program7 C5 c3 U: v# o4 m0 F
* Coordinates Camp fYrefly's year-round educational programming, peer leadership training,and youth mentoring activities
7 I7 f: u( N K * Coordinates, develops and oversees the camp application, recruitment, and selection processes
9 l5 r/ e: s B" { * Recruits, trains, and supervises volunteers who support the delivery of Camp fYrefly's annual summer youth leadership retreat8 p5 g* w/ p+ A. c! q9 _8 K c
* Develops and solicits appropriate workshop and educational programming in consultation with a youth advisory committee and community stakeholders
& g# a0 G: S) ~. a * Liaises with the Assistant Director to set appropriate work priorities, action plans,and volunteer and program resource requirements- a- w: H, E' P9 F* g( \: @
* Works with the Assistant Director to plan, deliver and evaluate fundraising activities and donor recognition programs

* Serves as a resource person and liaises with the Assistant Director in budget planning

* Creates and delivers community-based presentations on camp-related research and evaluation results
( x- l' j# Z; { |- C * Provides support and advice on emerging LGBTTQ youth needs and trends to Institute personnel and partner agencies, @( [% J3 ~+ M; }; g
+ o+ |0 Z3 v/ C' F$ W3 `Qualifications: D( I2 G$ [: }
4 I& f! c8 h" Z' P * Post Secondary diploma in a related discipline such as education, human services, community development or social sciences; Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related professional discipline preferred
: O6 B; k; d! C * Three to five years background experience in youth programming and/or community development with a particular emphasis on sexual minority youth0 t! Y) s/ k9 ^1 }4 p
* Experience working with Aboriginal and ethnocultural communities an asset
* a; T5 H9 r" } l6 ?4 E7 { * Knowledge of violence and bullying prevention, harm reduction, and youth advocacy strategies) ]1 ?3 |' C& a; _
* Demonstrated experience in the development of youth educational programming, community outreach, and conflict resolution skills
: C+ H1 W* p0 L* B. S/ L9 l" b * Knowledge and experience in fund development, volunteer management, proposal writing, and special event planning
