* Develops,coordinates, and facilitates the Institute for Sexual Minority Studies and Services (iSMSS), Camp fYrefly sexual minority youth outreach program
6 q' s) U" M- O3 {" w * Coordinates Camp fYrefly's year-round educational programming, peer leadership training,and youth mentoring activities
* S; g+ m, |+ I; I. W& V * Coordinates, develops and oversees the camp application, recruitment, and selection processes
& a% Q! e0 l) {$ k% H5 r * Recruits, trains, and supervises volunteers who support the delivery of Camp fYrefly's annual summer youth leadership retreat# t" O% p: c/ u5 ]0 b" I/ h
* Develops and solicits appropriate workshop and educational programming in consultation with a youth advisory committee and community stakeholders- F$ G! z+ F% e& p6 f
* Liaises with the Assistant Director to set appropriate work priorities, action plans,and volunteer and program resource requirements1 @" s! j" d) f7 i
* Works with the Assistant Director to plan, deliver and evaluate fundraising activities and donor recognition programs' x# c# O, H; F) R1 x5 k& v
* Provides a year-end activities report and program evaluation to the Assistant Director

* Develops and maintains relationships with local and national press and other relevant media

* Provides support and advice on emerging LGBTTQ youth needs and trends to Institute personnel and partner agencies5 B' R0 ~: ]8 t2 i, p

Qualifications) z" m- q# \9 X4 ^' P* Z' ^

* Post Secondary diploma in a related discipline such as education, human services, community development or social sciences; Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related professional discipline preferred* j: a) d" T( n4 y E2 ~
* Three to five years background experience in youth programming and/or community development with a particular emphasis on sexual minority youth0 J5 V, |7 H0 @) w4 w$ q
* Experience working with Aboriginal and ethnocultural communities an asset. F' D8 g. K" O2 }# q
* Knowledge of violence and bullying prevention, harm reduction, and youth advocacy strategies
- o. R8 d$ @5 K * Demonstrated experience in the development of youth educational programming, community outreach, and conflict resolution skills+ m8 q; W0 U- R. |, f1 k
* Knowledge and experience in fund development, volunteer management, proposal writing, and special event planning* d z ?' n+ U8 a3 H5 u
* Demonstrated skills in program/donor communication, development of information, education and communication material (including web-based documentation)( o6 k4 K- O# c2 n& w+ r- \
* Excellent communication (oral and written) and analytical skills& ~! H( ]) O. \; t5 c5 k! s& p
