* Develops,coordinates, and facilitates the Institute for Sexual Minority Studies and Services (iSMSS), Camp fYrefly sexual minority youth outreach program
6 a6 }: ] N- J * Coordinates Camp fYrefly's year-round educational programming, peer leadership training,and youth mentoring activities7 a; |$ Z/ o+ O8 v1 P9 u# Q
* Coordinates, develops and oversees the camp application, recruitment, and selection processes0 p" o% F' b1 _7 k& a6 c
* Recruits, trains, and supervises volunteers who support the delivery of Camp fYrefly's annual summer youth leadership retreat
2 M W7 o6 I7 O$ g0 Y9 Y * Develops and solicits appropriate workshop and educational programming in consultation with a youth advisory committee and community stakeholders9 ^6 Z' m* h' J: K6 h) m
* Liaises with the Assistant Director to set appropriate work priorities, action plans,and volunteer and program resource requirements& C8 l, A' V3 m
* Works with the Assistant Director to plan, deliver and evaluate fundraising activities and donor recognition programs5 \2 t5 g, Z4 d
* Provides a year-end activities report and program evaluation to the Assistant Director
) s: h, H7 H. U/ G9 d+ Q" s * Serves as a resource person and liaises with the Assistant Director in budget planning7 c# ?2 U4 F8 d4 o9 k+ o
* Develops high quality promotional and educational materials% i% H! D2 \" a9 a
* Develops and maintains relationships with local and national press and other relevant media
) H, I/ J$ v4 z# Q7 c4 z * Creates and delivers community-based presentations on camp-related research and evaluation results

Qualifications% E; n9 J& \9 E9 ^6 j
, N* }3 U: o! k) y% J* g5 f/ } * Post Secondary diploma in a related discipline such as education, human services, community development or social sciences; Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related professional discipline preferred
6 w- R; j2 M ^ * Three to five years background experience in youth programming and/or community development with a particular emphasis on sexual minority youth% E6 k5 ~( P8 l- i& O
* Experience working with Aboriginal and ethnocultural communities an asset
% _" H0 p+ U3 w2 \1 g" g * Knowledge of violence and bullying prevention, harm reduction, and youth advocacy strategies
1 T% A& o: q% m( L% Q * Demonstrated experience in the development of youth educational programming, community outreach, and conflict resolution skills
2 j6 U- w0 y9 \& k * Knowledge and experience in fund development, volunteer management, proposal writing, and special event planning
! A2 M' ]$ Z1 ^% C. k! l * Demonstrated skills in program/donor communication, development of information, education and communication material (including web-based documentation)
