- Q/ _2 C5 ?' _# Y    * Develops, implements, monitors, and evaluates programs and services to address the unique educational and social needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans-identified,two-spirited and queer (LGBTTQ) youth in the Edmonton region
7 D9 q' v9 ?( Y; m    * Develops and delivers community-based programming and provides support services for Youth Understanding Youth, Edmonton's sexual minority community youth group
1 b- F( h- i& m3 u% C    * Trains,motivates and supports volunteer adult facilitators
) S( ]5 n9 R/ M& E    * Acts as a resource on LGBTTQ youth issues for Institute staff, community, and governmental organizations# I8 t- Y4 Q- i$ q9 N+ I
    * Provides interim quarterly reports and an overall annual productivity report and evaluation to the Assistant Director
" Y' d& t  m% _+ t    * Liaises with the Assistant Director in budget planning and management; monitors project related expenses& @) j" Z! U5 [, O4 R+ Z
    * Advocates to meet the health, social and safety needs of LGBTTQ and questioning youth6 O+ |! s+ R) M3 \$ n
    * Researches and develops a LGBTTQ youth mentoring program
4 U6 a3 A# b" |( ]/ J7 p6 Q    * Develops, implements and monitors a LGBTTQ youth risk and needs assessment7 L5 H4 m+ u5 O) Z
    * Develops benchmarks to assist in the evaluation of YUY programming and outreach supports

    * Supports University of Alberta campus organizations for sexual minority students and gay-straight student alliances in local high schools and communities

8 l, V# H: }# n! z    * Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related professional discipline
, J2 L7 {: V/ M3 D3 j9 u  o3 G    * Three to five years experience in community development with a particular emphasis on sexual minority youth$ E: C5 `! F  r7 ]0 \
    * Knowledge in adolescent development, health and sex education, violence prevention,suicide intervention, alcohol and substance abuse, HIV and STI prevention and harm reduction strategies
+ f8 S2 [: i0 B+ r9 x6 {5 j    * Experience in developing and providing youth-oriented programs8 D+ _3 t0 u$ U5 F" i2 Q% p
    * Demonstrated effectiveness in working with the LGBTTQ community5 n* `% R6 T1 f( n9 \

    * Demonstrated experience in development of youth group programming, community outreach,volunteer management and training and conflict resolution skills

    * Proven leadership, and strong team, and relationship building skills
