- Q/ _2 C5 ?' _# Y    * Develops, implements, monitors, and evaluates programs and services to address the unique educational and social needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans-identified,two-spirited and queer (LGBTTQ) youth in the Edmonton region
7 D9 q' v9 ?( Y; m    * Develops and delivers community-based programming and provides support services for Youth Understanding Youth, Edmonton's sexual minority community youth group
1 b- F( h- i& m3 u% C    * Trains,motivates and supports volunteer adult facilitators
) S( ]5 n9 R/ M& E    * Acts as a resource on LGBTTQ youth issues for Institute staff, community, and governmental organizations
    * Provides interim quarterly reports and an overall annual productivity report and evaluation to the Assistant Director
" Y' d& t  m% _+ t    * Liaises with the Assistant Director in budget planning and management; monitors project related expenses
    * Advocates to meet the health, social and safety needs of LGBTTQ and questioning youth
    * Researches and develops a LGBTTQ youth mentoring program
4 U6 a3 A# b" |( ]/ J7 p6 Q    * Develops, implements and monitors a LGBTTQ youth risk and needs assessment
    * Develops benchmarks to assist in the evaluation of YUY programming and outreach supports
" d4 _' n' ^: z+ [    * Develops promotional materials such as posters, brochures, and displays to promote the youth group and mentoring programs
6 U: y6 w3 \4 e* q+ J0 }    * Participates in the development of leadership training and educational programming at Camp fYrefly
    * Supports University of Alberta campus organizations for sexual minority students and gay-straight student alliances in local high schools and communities
# H/ T) J- a: D# P4 R+ Z    * Develops a communications and advertising strategy targeting community agencies, youth groups/programs, and schools

8 l, V# H: }# n! z    * Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related professional discipline
, J2 L7 {: V/ M3 D3 j9 u  o3 G    * Three to five years experience in community development with a particular emphasis on sexual minority youth
    * Knowledge in adolescent development, health and sex education, violence prevention,suicide intervention, alcohol and substance abuse, HIV and STI prevention and harm reduction strategies
+ f8 S2 [: i0 B+ r9 x6 {5 j    * Experience in developing and providing youth-oriented programs
    * Demonstrated effectiveness in working with the LGBTTQ community
    * Fundraising skills an asset
    * Demonstrated experience in development of youth group programming, community outreach,volunteer management and training and conflict resolution skills
- I! C0 O  h* E+ Q7 o    * Outstanding group facilitation, training, and counselling skills
    * Proven leadership, and strong team, and relationship building skills
