% I+ S# ]# V6 b8 w7 s9 b    * Develops, implements, monitors, and evaluates programs and services to address the unique educational and social needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans-identified,two-spirited and queer (LGBTTQ) youth in the Edmonton region  k/ f9 X3 s% ]9 N, G2 ?" p7 \* v
    * Develops and delivers community-based programming and provides support services for Youth Understanding Youth, Edmonton's sexual minority community youth group
* a3 p9 P8 ^9 V% ]1 }: I4 N    * Trains,motivates and supports volunteer adult facilitators) J  h3 h! L5 s- T8 p% D
    * Acts as a resource on LGBTTQ youth issues for Institute staff, community, and governmental organizations
# o' l( K; p; r, r    * Provides interim quarterly reports and an overall annual productivity report and evaluation to the Assistant Director
- Q, L! I; B1 m/ Y1 _- E: F0 |    * Liaises with the Assistant Director in budget planning and management; monitors project related expenses
. G& u; h" l; T! u2 f    * Advocates to meet the health, social and safety needs of LGBTTQ and questioning youth
+ z7 Z% }' [* i4 ~6 x' Q    * Researches and develops a LGBTTQ youth mentoring program$ M2 E6 `6 T! m3 s9 e4 K! [
    * Develops, implements and monitors a LGBTTQ youth risk and needs assessment) k& U2 t7 D+ ]5 l) r& e; z8 s
    * Develops benchmarks to assist in the evaluation of YUY programming and outreach supports
) r/ o( x1 q& j4 P; M    * Develops promotional materials such as posters, brochures, and displays to promote the youth group and mentoring programs
' G2 z0 S; o: O. K8 ^) ]    * Participates in the development of leadership training and educational programming at Camp fYrefly
9 b2 {% s4 Z% z+ f, B0 l: S    * Supports University of Alberta campus organizations for sexual minority students and gay-straight student alliances in local high schools and communities

Qualifications
) J  `1 f7 B/ {. S
) H  U  [: c6 y6 {6 R1 d    * Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related professional discipline
- ]4 o8 @( y$ e+ u9 ?    * Three to five years experience in community development with a particular emphasis on sexual minority youth
" y$ k0 Z: K& ]5 H; p9 A    * Knowledge in adolescent development, health and sex education, violence prevention,suicide intervention, alcohol and substance abuse, HIV and STI prevention and harm reduction strategies) d7 ~1 a' Z" `( l6 w2 t3 f# T
    * Experience in developing and providing youth-oriented programs
/ N* U* v* I' ]    * Demonstrated effectiveness in working with the LGBTTQ community  T( }! Q$ T" N) r9 M
    * Fundraising skills an asset
! ~) d5 F& j% r# o    * Demonstrated experience in development of youth group programming, community outreach,volunteer management and training and conflict resolution skills) x3 W( a* V) r4 e& c$ Y8 k! J
    * Outstanding group facilitation, training, and counselling skills
; X# D! f( H" M  d4 E  M7 A    * Proven leadership, and strong team, and relationship building skills
$ d0 T" H. m) [# y& ]    * Excellent communication (oral, written, and web-based), organizational and interpersonal skills' |; ]' I5 D, C3 {
    * Understanding of other languages and experiences working within Aboriginal and ethnocultural communities an asset; q% ^% x& M3 b7 `* T# x! `
