Position Title: Immigrant Services Worker

& \1 i& o7 B0 {# T- APosition Summary: Within the broad guidelines of Integrated Service Program funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada, and Albert Employment and Immigration, the Immigrant Service Worker will provide front line services to clients for their inquiry in a polite and professional manner.

t. U a# _) M* m! M0 T• Respond to inquiries by telephone or in person with respect to matters relating to immigration, social services, employment insurance benefits, Alberta Health Care, Alberta Seniors Benefit, OAS, CPP, Citizenship and passports, etc.; j y3 @. o9 u: S6 W7 K
• Book appointments and assist clients in completing various application forms0 W) [ J% p6 i+ P- x
• Recommend and register clients in workshops, seminars, classes, and activities) [* j% U0 @$ C8 M4 @
• Helping Immigrants with Language Barriers to interpret and explain English letters, pamphlets, notices in Cantonese or Mandarin as requested by the client
u1 F4 o% H& w' H3 e2 w, `• Refer newcomers/new immigrants to Settlement Counselor6 O5 Q" f3 W4 n7 g
• Gather ISP files quarterly to ISP Coordinator1 I, s2 D; w& r
• Train and supervise volunteers at front counter or reception

• Record new client information and open new files

Qualifications:9 u! K/ J, X) F
- High school diploma or above, two years or more related work experience
: q x% v( i. w( U w5 n) f- Exceptional customer service skills
- I+ b- u! h3 y- Ability to multi-task7 \+ ?- W, m) M" \7 p/ S7 ]
- Works well under pressure1 u3 V; G- t9 q2 Q" H
- Ability to work well independently as well as in a team( ~) v) t7 F. |4 g( ~
- Good oral and written English and Chinese (Mandarin and Cantonese) and willing to learn one of the Chinese dialects if only proficient in one$ a1 n- _7 [0 a
