* v1 a& V( s9 U& }' s * Provides routine technical and administrative support for sample preparations and mineral separation for isotopic analysis6 M: _% P9 H) P/ R' y8 n
* Conducts mineral separation, sample imaging, grant mount preparation, sample weighing and iron exchange chromatography) A" A, f$ V: P
* Provides training to graduate students, visiting scientists on preparation techniques
q5 G4 I0 E- i! p8 R# B& r: |3 Q * Compiles analytical data using standard office software such as Excel, Word and Corel for use by the PI or client
% }1 Y" b; o' ?2 ^+ B * Performs routine maintenance on equipment and lab husbandry
8 D9 ]& w t) ^7 C+ {1 J * Orders supplies, maintains lab records, maintain WHMIS records and compliance labeling, maintains lab inventory and safe disposal of chemicals

Qualifications2 @9 r! Q# c! f

* Post Secondary diploma in laboratory technology, Chemistry or Earth Sciences; BSc in Geology or Chemistry preferred; R- |$ b0 ]7 l# v
* 1-2 years experience working in a research environment (analytical chemistry lab or geochemical lab)
) b* N* d+ A& z3 d) e8 w7 g * Computer proficiency using MS Office applications and Corel
; v! s' G& o- t' J& E * A thorough knowledge of lab safety protocols and WHMIS procedures
+ |, a3 M. D# r3 {3 d5 y6 B * Experience conducting routine maintenance on standard rock sample preparation equipment! y6 @+ H7 @) Z: U
