Context: The Edmonton Waste Management Centre of Excellence is a not-for-profit organization with projects in research, training & technology development in waste management. The position is based at the Wastewater Research & Training Centre, located at Edmonton's Gold Bar Wastewater Treatment Plant. The hourly rate will depend on qualifications and experience.& F6 ~) A, E! Z, |" {, `$ y+ Q
) D1 J0 l: a9 z: e* kKey responsibilities will include: reception functions at the WRTC; receive visitors & respond to general inquiries; help ensure facility security and safety policies are applied.

Administrative functions: update documents, dBases, directories; arrange for mail & courier services; document copying, printing, scanning, faxing; check general electronic mailbox/forward inquiries; update & maintain filing system; assist with committee/staff meetings; take & distribute minutes; schedule meetings, book room, send out agenda, order refreshments.4 P4 h; p" R, ?) ~1 p) d2 e

PLUS: assist with Hosting of Delegations/Tours; maintain inventory of promotional material at Gold Bar; compile information packages for visitors to the Centre; book meeting rooms, tours busses & order refreshments; handle room set-up, housekeeping, provision of supplies & invoicing for services provided.4 R8 k) {! p1 Q* A

In addition: assist with Organization of Technical Seminars, Training Courses and other Events; book facilities, arrange for shuttle services, arrange catering & supplies; confirm speakers, accept/compile presentations; handle registration of participants, invoicing/payments; train & oversee facility users on operation of A/V equipment.# V. 3 {- Q( t8 Y' x# d& W5 bThe ideal candidate will have: a high school diploma, proven work experience in general office administration and an interest in working in a not-for-profit organization with a focus in the environmental field; an Office Assistant Diploma will be considered an asset. . h" ^6 D4 ~4 R; y6 M# m, z& \2 K
( _: M0 @# L5 q! S. \/ b. mYou are a self-motivated, highly organized and flexible individual with strong attention to detail. You are a good communicator with effective interpersonal and teamwork skills. You are able to multi-task and are skilled in using MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook). & W# S8 |& f. r; H% k, F( J# h

PLUS: You must possess a valid Class 5 Alberta Driver's License and supply your own vehicle for business use as required. You will be reimbursed in accordance with the Centre's car allowance policy. On-site parking is provided.
