" |) c5 q+ x4 |* A1. Chemical list and Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS’s)
( T6 \1 N& y) A3 I( F* v$ e! k• help complete up-to-date chemical lists for all laboratories within the department
& L* `! R z0 F: `• collect and obtain MSDS’s for all chemicals. x( @ c$ S8 a# V" S0 H
• make sure all chemicals are properly labelled and stored
: \; w/ h: e: G• proper disposal of all unwanted chemicals$ A0 g2 Z9 R2 `- h* }+ l
• finalize chemical lists and then duplicate and label all MSDS’s for distribution to OH&S for the MSDS on line system.

2. Standard Operation Procedures (SOP’s) and Hazard Assessments (HA’s): e! r8 E. u* ?; G
• help update the department SOP’s and HA’s. This will include verification of existing SOP’s and HA’s and tracking any that are needed.

3. Tracking System3 l! i& x- w X% a& b, Z
• help develop a tracking system for adding or removal of chemicals as well as continual updating and verification of SOP’s and HA’s

/ z' f4 @# V! `: KCandidates should be inquisitive, thorough, and willing to learn. Some education and/or experience in safety is preferred. Strong communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently as well as in a team environment are required.

This is a two-month summer position, preferably commencing the middle of June, which will pay an hourly wage commensurate with education and experience. Final candidates will be asked to undergo a security screening.
