1. Chemical list and Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS’s)
4 Z3 L3 ^+ }( m/ ^; R2 @• help complete up-to-date chemical lists for all laboratories within the department- i6 `0 _9 @1 o8 i( G4 \4 F
• collect and obtain MSDS’s for all chemicals
0 b ` q, E9 c i+ `• make sure all chemicals are properly labelled and stored( _8 [3 a8 U+ w, H6 ?" A
• proper disposal of all unwanted chemicals" q% C4 a$ O( E. H# k4 i
• finalize chemical lists and then duplicate and label all MSDS’s for distribution to OH&S for the MSDS on line system.( ]9 f6 U" x8 p9 k: H* j
' ]2 g. m; i3 O5 F3 F2. Standard Operation Procedures (SOP’s) and Hazard Assessments (HA’s)
. w1 M* |% S) l k: E, \. v) Y) j! y, Y• help update the department SOP’s and HA’s. This will include verification of existing SOP’s and HA’s and tracking any that are needed.+ L- K3 K. \; p0 ?/ ]+ f

3. Tracking System* a5 z4 V7 v; {8 N( g' Y8 ^$ E) ]
• help develop a tracking system for adding or removal of chemicals as well as continual updating and verification of SOP’s and HA’s

1 _$ y- u8 i+ K4 A' M5 cCandidates should be inquisitive, thorough, and willing to learn. Some education and/or experience in safety is preferred. Strong communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently as well as in a team environment are required.

This is a two-month summer position, preferably commencing the middle of June, which will pay an hourly wage commensurate with education and experience. Final candidates will be asked to undergo a security screening.1 T% Z; O2 J% G% a- G
